I have authored a 2 hour 13 minute mpeg2 video in Vegas and the video I have set to be NTSC with 29.970 frame rate. It rendered out just fine to be 02:12:58:08 long to be exact. When I select the video in Vegas' explorer it shows the exact length I just wrote above 2:12:58:08 in the status bar in the explrorer window. If I right click the file to look up the properties I get the same results including the 29.970 frame rate.
When I load this video into DVDA2 the length of the video in the timeline window is 2:12:50:09 which seems like that DVDA2 shows the timeline as if the video file was 30fps not 29.970. Also, in the DVDA2's explorer window it shows the file to be 2:12:50:09 long but with 29.970fps. If I right click the file to pull up the properties I get the correct length (2:12:58.270) with the 29.970 interlace in DVDA2 just as I did in Vegas.
It seems like the timeline puts the video out as a 30fps video and recalculates the length based on total number of frames. It is a big problem for me, because I forgot to export my markers, so now I need to add them back in manually, but they don't line up with the marker locations in Vegas. They start to be skewed by a couple of seconds due to the 29.970 vs. 30 fps difference. The longer the movie the more obvious this difference.
Can anyone tell me what I could do the get the proper time coding displayed in DVDA2? This is really annoying!
I think the authored DVD will be 29.970fps so it will end up being the same length as the original render from Vegas, but in the meantime DVDa@'s timeline keeps telling otherwise.
Any info would be appreciated!
Thanks!
