WWM2 Error

I want to encode my video file in WWM2 and ever time I add the avi file to the time line it freezes and gives me an error report. Any ideas?

OK, I'll show ignorance? Not familiar with WM2 for video, only for Linux, and so I know I've got that wrong. I can tell you it's not a supported format, only by omission. If it's a wm2, it wouldn't be an avi so far as I know. If it's a strange codec that doesn't live on your machine, Vegas wouldn't be able to read it, either. Where did it originate?
