X in preview window

Can someone please tell me why an X appears in the video preview window
after using Pixelate step motion special effects. It only happens with the
Pixelate effects. Even after rendering the video the X appears.

Because you are using a demo version of the Pixelan plugin. When you purchase a licenced version, the "X" disappears.
