XP crash...VF screens missing areas....

After Xp was put back in action due to a missing file....\windows\systems\vgaoem.fon
for which there was a fix on the net.... my screens in VF have been affected....
i.e fx credit roll properties the position "handles" show only on one side...
In the styles tab I see Name,
Font, but not the arrow to change the size. nor the color rectangle, nor the arrow for the palette ect... it seems that the size of the font is way larger that it was. On the project screen with the time line the arrows below it to go right or left have change to a rectangle....

So my question is.... how do I go back to the original settings....
VF application is on my D drive and all my projects are on W drive... can I reinstall VF 2 and download again 2.0c build 125 as I have the version before the update....
OR????
Suggestions greatly appreciated.....

NelMichel, you may have two choices I think. I remembered reading this from one of Chienworks posts... 'you can always quit VF, then hold down the Shift & Ctrl keys while starting it again. This will reset ALL preferences to the default settings so that you'll be able to run VF again. Of course, this will even reset preferences that you wanted to keep.'
Or there is a go-back utility on xp which can take you back to a stage before the problem arose. Good luck.

thanks Laz111, I will try to find Chienworks' posts... Do you remember roughly the date of the post?

Actually there's no need to look up my post on the subject. The entire apropriate part of it would have been the "Hold Ctrl & Shift down while starting Video Factory". That's all there is to resetting the preferences & options.
