XY axis-how to expand them beyond project settings

Hello @ll,

Simple question from the beginner but I'll really appreciate the answer.
Sony Vegas Pro, I'd like to put several media files (photos, videos etc.) in different places on 'workspace' (different x,y,z values), then using parent motion to move camera from one media to another, zooming in and out, showing one media, later all of them as small icons etc. - generally to have mix of such actions.
The problem is that currently I have 'workspace' with dimension of 1920x1080 (probably due to project settings that are fullHD) and my goal is to place all of this media on larger space (x,y values expanded beyond 1920/1080, z axis is not problematic as I could see). The question is how to do that?
I know how to use track and parent motion, how to make child track etc. but I met this problem with media placing, hence I'm asking you for help.

If I haven't explained the issue enough, please ask me for more details.

Do you want a 4k workspace?

How do you plan to display your grand creation? 1920x1080 is the biggest generally used in delivery methods at the moment.

Hi,

Maybe I was wrong using 'workspace' word, that's why I put in in aposthropes.

At the end I'd like to render fullHD movie, nothing connected with 4k space.

Just want to create a space (2 or 3 dimensions) where I'm going to put few media files with different coordinates (X,Y,Z) .
Camera (I mean window with resolution of 1920x1080 on parent track) 'flies' over the space and zoom-in/zoom-out the files.
I know this is possible because I found a template where some media files were put with X,Y cooridinates like (3000, 5000) and project settings were HDready among others (1280x720).
Hope it'll help.

Not sure what your mean, but I can take a parent track motion movement and put it beyond the 1920x1080 limit just by dragging it.

You can also use your mouse wheel to zoom in/out & see more/fine tune.

I believe what you are referring to is 3D Compositing. This is the process of making one or more video tracks Child tracks of a parent. Where moving the parent track you also move the child tracks. Since Vegas doesn't have a Camera view. Moving the parent track in 3D space serves a similar purpose.

Here's an example of Compositing. And below that is a Sony Webinar that covers the concepts of Copositing.

I'm talking about sth like this:

To get such result shall I use one of ideas you gave or sth else?

It's the same thing. The example you referenced was done using Compositing techniques. You should watch the Sony video on Compositing and Masking to understand how it's done.

Here is a zip file containing several simple examples of how to group video from different tracks, and move together. This technology was added in Vegas 5, and many of these examples date back to that time:

Once you get the hang of it, doing stuff like those 3D flybys is easy, just tedious. :p

Scattershot 3D by VASST is deigned to do stuff like this much easier then by hand:
