ok here goes, I have a Sony TRV33 a pinnacle Firewire card P3 1ghz 768 megs ram ect ect plenty to run vegas ect.. I have 0 Problems capturing video from tape or from the A/V ->Dv converter on the Cam but I cant print to tape or use the passthru to beable to output the video to analog Or Use to use the cam as external preview device without getting the ever famous blue screen and blips and flashes, grey spots you know the bad stuff, Here comes the wierd part IF I put the play rate Above 3 (normal 1 ) or use the mouse to search back and forth on the timeline I have NO problem to output a analog signal or to use external preview, The picture is 100% stable, but unless i want to output everything in fast forward and have everything sound like chipmunks this is no good

Well seems i found the answer to my own question
Anyone who has a problem simmilar to mine check out
and has a Pinnacle DV Card

May work on other cards ?

Seems that PCI bandwidth is a problem

I installed this 32kb tools and no 0 problems everything works great (knock on wood)

I think this is a common issue with PCI firewire of all sorts. I have a Belkin PCI w 2-port adaptor. I can get perfect data stream in ONE direction at a time. 4example: to PTT from an .avi on external drive, I copy the file in to C/My Documents through the PCI, and then PTT out to the Canon camcorder through the PCI. Perfect. Cannot PTT in from E and out to Canon at same time. DGrob
