Your Favorite Learining Resources??

I've learned what I know about video editing with Premier Elements. I started with version 9 and have worked through to the current version, 13. Learning resources are abundant, including "Adobe TV", a similar YouTube Channel and a full course at Lynda.com.

Thinking I might find new approaches, encourgement from friends, potential for a few better tools and for the fun of it, I bought Movie Studio Platinum when it was "Black Friday" cheap. It installed well and seems to be running fine.

The only "problem" is that I'm not learning it very quickly. Coming from Adobe's way of doing things, nothing seem "intuitive" and tools seem to be in hidden places. I could use some better learning tools.

Do you have any favorite websites, tutorials, online classes or, gasp, books you would recommend?

One place to look is: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/training/moviestudio. There are some training videos. Also, go to YouTube and search on "Sony Movie Studio" and you'll get lots of hits, many of which are pertinent to version 13. There's lots of stuff on YouTube about this product. In addition, one of the users on the Forum, Steve Grisetti, has a couple books out and some other training materials he has shared with us.

I've been using Movie studio since version 9 can out several years. I am now using version 12 Platinum. This Forum has users with many years experience who won't hesitate to give help when needed.

It was Steve who taught me everything I know about Adobe Premier Elements. His excellant course on Lynda.com, "Up and Running With Premier Elements", was first done for Version 11. He has re-done it twice, and for version 13, it was complete and ready within a couple weeks of the product launch.

Steve is a very good instructor. Although he does a Lynda.com course for Vegas Pro, he does not have one there for Movie Studio. I wish he did!

Although I don't have a course on lynda.com for Movie Studio, the Vegas class is very applicable. I also have a free 8-part Basic Training class and a number of special skills and tricks tutorials on Muvipix.com, if you're interested.

I find www.moviestudiozen.com very good, with a helpful forum as well.

Steve, you are my "hero". I've been a photographer, in various ways, for 60 years. When I decided to try video editing a couple years ago, I fought with books and instruction manuals for months. When I discovered your training on Lynda.com, all the light bulbs started popping on! With your help, I made a video in a week! My personal "hit" is https://vimeo.com/36973087 with about 2,200 plays. Next time I buy a month of Linda, I'll watch your Pro training. Meanwhile, I found your free 8 part series. Just like you did with the other brand of NLE, you got me going.

Please know that you taught me well in the other brand. I'm not switching, only learning something new -- for the fun of it.
