Your registration/serial number/computer id scheme sucks.

I tried the Vegas demo, I liked it, I bought it. Now I
just wish I could install it. The computer I want to use
this on is in a studio, 5 miles from my home w/no phone line.
So now I get to drive to the studio get the "computer id" (I wonder
how many times this is going to happen), drive back home, watch
your web site error out for a half an hour to get a serial
number that I have to drive back to the studio to plug in
and who knows maybe it'll work this time. Now I know why
you named it Vegas - It's a gamble that you'll get a
goddamn registration number that will work. When I tried
calling your tech support, I was told I had to get the
registration number online. When I told the person I had
no Inet access on that computer she said I would have to
use the computer ID from the registration wizard to get a
registration number from a computer that had Inet access.
Also, I am getting the "time expired" message after running
the "repair utility". This is fucking ridiculous. I
understand that all this comes from your pirating paranoia
but for christ sakes, do a hardware dongle or something
that works so the people that shell out $500 for your
software can easily intall it. I have never seen a more
user Unfriendly software installation/registration
process. I will try an install/registration/serial number
one more time, but I swear to God if it doesn't work again,
I'm gonna freak out, snap the CD in half and stop payment
on the credit card. What a pain in the ass.

What's more inconvenient - license-restricted software or a studio
without a telephone?
