I thought this might be an interesting topic ... briefly, whats' your workflow in Vegas, eg from managing subdirectories to getting final DVDs produced?
Let's say I have all my source footage on drive D: ... then I'd have:
D:\ProjectSourceAVI\Cam1footage
D:\ProjectSourceAVI\Cam2footage
D:\ProjectSourceAVI\Cam3footage
D:\ProjectEdited AVI\DVD1
D:\ProjectEdited AVI\DVD2
etc..
D:\ProjectDVDfinalrenders\DVD1
D:\ProjectDVDfinalrenders\DVD2
etc
And then use various audio/video backgrounds and other files for integrating with event video in each of those source subdirectories...
Re workflow, I like to do multicam edits for one DVD at a time (let's say I have a 12-DVD project I'm working on, from a seminar) ...
And then use that as the template for my subsequent edits, replacing source media files and syncing them in the Vegas timeline..
anyone else? media organization and project workflow ideas/suggestions?
Something I'm doing differently this time is, I stuck a couple of
300 gig internal hard drives in my pc, and I'm copying my source
avis from external WD/maxtors to those to work on, to both improve
render time, reduce dropouts, and avoid any problems w/speed and disconnects from external drives...
(I'm working on my latest 12-DVD seminar series this week...)
thx,
ken
