Zoom Alias/Shimmer

I am just finishing up a project highlighting someones life. In it he mentions a few obscure towns in Idaho and for explanation I scanned in a very high resolution map of Idaho and zoomed in on the towns. The problem is, with all the roads and fine lines in the map there is terrible aliasing and shimmering, it looks like the entire image is dancing in the final render. Any suggests of how to lessen this effect? After he mentions the first town, I simply pan to another town when he describes moving, this looks fine.

Project: 640x480 to be rendered as SVCD (480x480), interlaced, NTSC Video. The map is probably 2000x3000 pixels or so.

If you're using VV3 try this: Right click on the video and select "Properties" then select "Reduce Interlace Flicker" and "Resample".

Also, before doing the Vegas stuff, take the map into some photo program and clone out some of the roads. All you really need is the city name and a few highways to get the point across.

I agree it only needs the place, but it could take a long time to remove enough roads.

However, the settings for reduce flicker and resample (force resample) worked great.

I am actually using V4 Beta because the color correction was great for this old VHS video. Can't wait to get the full thing.

Ritchie:

Most important: when using high-resolution stills, set your Project Property called "full resolution rendering quality" to "Best". It uses a much better down-sampling algorithm when scaling the high-res scan down to video resolution. I'm sure this will greatly improve your final result.

My question is, did he need to force Resample in addition to Reduce Interlace Flicker? Wouldn't the automatic downsample of BEST have done the same?
