Zoom in to still jpeg

How do i do this: Let's say i import a jpeg file into vegas and drop it into the timeline. I then want to create animation where the picture looks like it's being zoomed into. then i want to pan from l to r. Can someone help, esp. sonicepm?

Use the event Pan/Crop feature. This will do exactly as you desire.

I posted a project file here: http://www.chienworks.com/media/cloudpan/ that illustrates exactly what you're asking for. It's a .vf file from Video Factory, but it will open in Vegas. Download both the .vf file and the .jpg file. You'll be able to see what pan/crop settings i used to achieve the effect.
