I noticed that right away and here's another delightful small big thing for me: When I go to render my project Vegas now sees the previously saved file under the same name and lets me overwrite it, keeping the same name. Before, the Render As window showed nothing and automatically named my new file with an added number, unless I first went into the save folder and deleted the older one.
In Ulead's MSP, the project opens exactly where you left off... scrubber and all. If Ulead can do it... why can't we??

Ha-ha! Not for me!! Now I am allowed to decide where I want to go first after re-opening; this is much, much better.
So, how is this a good thing?
Shouldn't it save the state of the project?
What I'd much rather see is being able to define the length of the project, at will. Of course maybe there is a way, could be something else I've missed.
I think that it depends on how we each work. I seldom return to the same location of the timeline when I return. Before I had to either zoom out and in again to the new spot, or slip-slide away until I found the new place.
Now I see the whole project from the sky and just click on any location and jump in -- much better.
Guess I naturally enjoy experimenting with new ways in doing the same thing - yeah? Maybe this isn't the case for others - Bob? Seeing the "whole" project laid out is growing on me. Having now set up my CSP to ONE click Scrub focus on a region it is a great way to fly V8Pro!
Shouldn't it save the state of the project?
Nah! It should mix it up and throw it all about! What do you think?
Well it doesn't worry me that much what it does when a project opens but I do recall you saying you'd like to be able to jump back to where you were, like an undo kind of thing and this behaviour is the exact opposite of that concept.
What gets me is this.
I drop a 1 hour clip onto the T/L and cut off all but say 10 seconds of it. I put that at the start of the T/L and zoom in to work on it / look at it detail. When I hit play the cursor flies off past the end of the clip and the T/l scrolls the clip out of view.
Other gripe.
Can't lock focus to a track. This a huge PIA in multitrack projects working with shuttle and mouse. I go to trim an end using the shuttle and I'm forever having to check which track has focus, if not I can end up 1 hour away from where I was and have some difficulty finding where I was. An autobookmark would be a good idea or else a lock to track button.
