zooming in on digital photos

i'm working on my vacation video from last year. it will be a mix of video and digital photos. i reduced my photos to 1500x1125 and saved as PNG. i figured i could zoom in 200% without losing and quality.

i just did a test zooming in to 400% (375x275 pixels), added a pan, rendered to NTSC DV MPEG, and it looked a lot better than i thought it would. does this sound right that a digital photo zoomed to 375x275 pixels would render fairly decent? granted, this was just one picture and i didn't view it on a TV yet.

At that resolution, it should still look pretty good, yes. If you have images with extremely fine detail, you might see some fuzziness in the fine details. A tiny amount of blur might help in that situation.
