Zooming in on Preview window

I've always had trouble placing items on the screen precisely as my hands are not at all steady. I discovered, quite by accident, that you can zoom in on the preview window, and I've learned that I can make extremely precise movements of items on the screen by zooming and using the CTRL key. Hooray! But the problem I have now is that I have to zoom back to 100% from the drop down menu every time I have to place more items. Zooming out on the zoomed in preview doesn't work quite the same way as zooming in, and there is seemingly no way to drag the preview around to get to the spot I need to. I've tried various key combinations in conjunction with dragging the mouse, but I see no way to move the preview around.

Is this possible? If not, could it be added as a feature update at some point? I'm using VP22 and VP23, but I guess it would apply to most versions of Vegas.

Thank you.

You should be able to zoom in and out by using the mouse wheel. Where you place the cursor is where the pic will zoom.

@anthony-chiappette The preview does have a shortcut for 100% centre but I place the cursor on the preview & double click my mouse wheel. (my mouse wheel can be clicked like a button)

PS. click & hold the mouse wheel also creates a hand to reposition the preview after zooming in.
