  Did you install the XVID codec? https://www.xvid.com/download/ In the future you might try some more modern codecs and skip video for Windows and other archaic ones. If you want lossless something like MagicYUV could work well. ProRes is also

  It may not be related but due to the nature of their compression MP3 audio isn't suitable for accurate editing. Try converting one of your mp3 files to wav and see if that makes any difference.

  Without a sample of the "glitch" causing mp3, how could they fix it? I have no issues so far with MP3's (music).
