Creating a freeze frame from the last video frame
If the frame you want use for the freeze frame is the last frame in the video (in both the timeline and the Project Media window), follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the video in the timeline and select "Switches".
  2. Disable the option "Loop".
  3. Click and drag the end of the video event to the right to lengthen it. Doing this repeats the last frame in the video. The more you extend the edge of the video object, the longer the last frame is repeated.

Creating a freeze frame from the frame at the cursor position
To create a freeze frame from a frame which is not the last frame in the video, you need to create a snapshot of the frame.

  1. Place the play cursor on the frame you want to create a freeze frame of.
  2. Click the "Save Snapshot to File" button in the Video Preview window.
  3. Once you've created the snapshot, split the video at the same cursor position so that you can insert the snapshot.
  4. Insert the snapshot.
  5. We also recommend enabling "Auto-ripple".
