OT: Degunking my Windows XP
My Pc has been also getting slower and I thought about a clean install of XP, but before i did I completely unistalled Zone Alarm Pro that I had been updating for a few years then installed it again and my PC seems to be its old self again,so maybe just updating each year builds up rubbish. Time will tell. Bob

1394 Died on my Sony camcorder?
Hi. I have just had the same trouble where computer would not talk to my ADVC 300 & Sony PD170P ,my problem turned out to be faulty firewire ports on the devices, I have had the ADCV 300 repaired and it works fine now ,still waiting return of Pd170 (6weeks so far) Bob

Thanks for all your replies I don't get a blue screen,I just don't get the Beeps. I can't see anywhere to "safely unplug", as I do with USB Actually I hot plug my Sony dcr trv9 cam & have never had a problem it was my PD 170 & ADVC 300 that are in for repair,maybe the older cammera is made of better stuff. LOL I will go with you more experienced people and hot plug as needed Thanks again Bob

What Is the MOST video you burned to a DVD?
Alex, I have just been transferring VHS music clips recorded from TV, I was able to get 1 1/2 hrs burned at 5000 BR,quality is quite good. VHS was captured thru ADVC 300. Bob

Gentlemen,Gentlemen , enough !! I visit this forum almost everynight to pickup hints to master Vegas as between here and the MANUAL I am gradually getting there,whenever I have asked ,the right answer has been given and I thank you all,BUT of late it all seems to be mostly Bickering and I find there is not a lot of actual advise being given ,so I think I will be reading a bit more Manual and check here a little less. Regarding the new look, IMO I don't think it matters what it looks like as long as it is Functional and most times is certainally is, so I can I ask all you regular Contributors to contribute your expertise on Vegas so that in the future us Newbies can also become contributors. Sorry if I offend anyone but as I stated I visit here to LEARN Bob
