About me Forum Tutorials Comments Guestbook Vegas Movie Studio (up to ver. 17) on 6/19/2018 Editing GoPro 6 files in Movie Studio This was just posted by our favorite Dr. Zen (Derek Moran) over at Movie Studio Zen: https://www.moviestudiozen.com/free-tutorials/sony-vegas-pro/592-render-cineform-video-from-vegas-pro-movie-studio Actually, just used the "download" he referred to for my new build only a couple of days ago. For a LUT, I know Casey Faris of Ground Control (does a lot of DaVinci Resolve YouTube videos), has a Protune to REC 709 free one, though to me, mine usually show too much contrast for my liking, so prefer to do the coloring the old fashioned way, heh-heh. Vegas Movie Studio (up to ver. 17) on 6/17/2018 Freezes on loading. I won't say that this is "hard to believe", but... ...I just "Down Graded" from two computers to one. Actually, just finished my new build on Thursday evening, and letting it get all the Microsoft updates, after installing all the manufacture drivers. So, spent the majority of Friday and Saturday installing all of my programs again. Two of which happen to be Magix Vegas Pro 15 Suite and Magix Movie Studio 15 Platinum Suite. Just to be safe, since I am running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (Spring Creators Update 1803), I installed my copy of Avid LE Codecs for DNxHD (version 2.73) and Quicktime 7.6 (not the higher version which works for Windows 7/8/8.1 - thanks to Dr. Zen of Movie Studio Zen on that tidbit of information!). Guess what, using the downloader from Magix site, everything installed fine, and I even tested out some old projects on this machine, along with doing a test Blu-Ray disc burn for DVD Architect. What I am finding hard to comprehend, is that so many people of recent have "bought" the new version of Vegas Pro or Movie Studio, or upgraded, blah, blah, blah...and yet the same type of "comments" continue to flood this forum about the software, and the requests have remained the same from the very knowledgeable and helpful "NON PAID" volunteers! And with the "so-called" person(s) with all this "Internet Knowledge" continue to be unable to actually do a "Forum Search" of a problem, because "I have to have it right now" Me, I'm retired twice and am enjoying this great hobby of video and photo editing. But I can also honestly say that my Military training would have been used had I gone into any type of "Customer Service" or "Help Desk" jobs. As far as Magix, when I was getting ready to take apart my two previous computers, guess what? I actually sent a "RESPECTFUL" e-mail requesting that both of my accounts with Magix be combined into one. Yep, initially got the "canned response" that it would be looked at. But hey, the next day I got another e-mail from Customer Support letting me know that my accounts were combined, and ll my licenses were now under one. Maybe I look at it as, I'm not floating around on the big, blue pond out there, expecting some "ne'er do well" wanting to shoot something at our ship. To me, that's important, because I don't thing calling 911 to come save a sinking ship or one on fire in the middle of the Atlantic/Pacific/Arctic, etc. oceans/seas. So "right now" doesn't cut it with me. So, search the forum posts, as there are plenty of things that our wonderful (and mostly cheery) "NON PAID" volunteers have previously posted. You're welcome. Mike "The Chief" O'Sullivan Video on 8/28/2017 Any improvement in rendering speed with Vegas Pro 15? Hi All, A test I previously did: https://www.moviestudiozen.com/forum/general-computer-hardware/1488-vegas-pro-14-using-asus-rx-480-vs-msi-gtx-1070 Here's some new information that I did with the "Trial Version" of VP 15: With a quick retest of the above using the updated build 270 for VP14: Sony AVC/AAC took 8m 6s @ 23.976 Bitrate 16Mb/s file @ .98GB VP15 Trial Build 177: Magix AVC Internet 1080p23.976 (NVenc enabled) - 4 min 05 sec @ 12 Mb/s & 834 MB Also tried the Intel HEVC for fun: 23 min 30 sec @ 12 Mb/s & 832 MB (this was basically to test - sucks in that you need the newer Kaby Lake processor with Native HEVC Hardware decode - so if on the Intel HEDT platform, bummer!😠) The test system and files used are listed in the above link from what I had done. Also, for those that had the older SeMW extensions on VP14, I read the posts earlier, saw there was an update to them, and ran it prior to "initializing" VP15, along with a reboot of my machine. Worked fine. Now, if they can only get rid of that goofy "Vegas" copyright for the trial... Oh, the only other thing I noticed, was that having the NewBlue FX from VP14, it now had a big "X" during the title for the above test file. Can deal with that issue later if need be, should I upgrade. Just wanted to get this update on rendering test out. Still not sure if I want to swap cards from the GTX 1070 in it now, and try the RX 480..."Let sleeping Dogs Lie?" Oh, and if you do check the above, the GoPro Hero 5 Black file I used was not "transcoded" using GoPro Studio to .avi, and it was left at 3840x2160/30p .mp4 format. Just threw it on the timeline. Yeah, wanted to put that test rig through some "Pain!" Heh, Heh. Previous page 1 … 6 7 8 9 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 of 9 Next page 9
