I'm back and a tad lost

The only adjustment I'm aware of is Options-Preferences-Display. Uncheck the "Use Vegas color scheme" box. Darryl

Windows 7 with Larger Fonts
Perhaps as an aside I'm using W7 with V9c 64bit on a laptop with 1920x1080 display. I had gone to larger fonts and wound up chasing icons that were miniscule in most of my GUIs. Thanks to John Cline I dropped my display to 1280x720 and reset my font size to 100%. Vegas workspace et al now look great to my old eyes. With Project settings of 720x480, I get 360x240 preview and a 418x307 display. I think the final render is driven by the Project Settings, although both my preview and display settings are colored red for some reason. I hope I'm following your question, don't know if this will help. Darryl

Got it. Vegas prompted me to download QuickTime - had to get the 64 bit QT player ??? 'cause first install wouldn't install due to being 32 bit. Installed and now its all there in V9. Thanks

OT Camera for media class
I'm not sure studying media in a 4:3 format fits the need of contemporary and beyond composition. If this is a class for the future, 16:9 is almost obligatory. Have a look at the Canon HV30 or something similar. Captures HDV to tape (inexpensive and easily edited m2t files), auto and manual. Frankly, SD isn't even relevant for home movies anymore. IMO. Creating a Timelapse in Vegas
I think you can grab the right edge with "Control" and slooowww the clip down, and then right click and add a "Velocity" envelope to the event. As I recall this will pull the event down 12x between the two. HTH, memory serving and all. Happy New Year! Darryl
