Sorry, pardon my ignorance. How do I do a XAVC proxy render? Is it a conversion? Something that can be done inside Vegas or is third party software required? Beginning to regret not shooting this project in 1080

When you think about it, is Premier any less cheesy than Vegas? Grass Valley? Names that work, and why. http://www.inc.com/ss/jill-krasny/5-brand-names-that-are-ingenious.html Vegas Brand is strong among NLEs . Hasn't always been so. Adding Magix could waken the cheap glitz association Vegas Pro has out grown and traded for respect..

Thanks Mike. I sometimes use camera audio for B roll. Maybe in need to use "good" audio for B roll too.

Colour Coirrection
Moved the project to another instance of VP12, but still can't get event CC or CC to activate on the Vegas TL. Audio FX working. Discovered FX works at track level but not at event level. Looks like my work around is to pull camera 2 onto it's own track, and apply CC and CC at the Track level and match to camera uno. Life gets tedious. The qualify as a bug?

Editing from .mp4
This was shot with a Panasonic HPX 170 720 30p, using P2 cards and rendered to Main Concept mp4..avc template in SVP 12. That any help?

No, none of that, I don't know what's going on. HD footage renders fine as always. Haven't worked with SD footage for several years, so maybe I've forgotten something in the process. No sense getting old if you don't get stupid. They just go together so well, don't they?

So here's the thing. Clip is clear as can be on one timeline. Mini DV .avi. I drag it onto the TL where I'm editing and it looks very bad,---totally soft and blurry. Pretty much unusable. Any thoughts appreciated.

Sony Officially Announces 4K A7s Camera
Let us not forget about the Panasonic GH4 as well. Also worth considering as an alternative to the Canon 5D MK III GH3 may be worth a look for those not yet into 4K. But no matter what you go with if you make the jump, it will cost thousands to trick out any of the above. Still, for a lot projects I do the old Panasonic HPX170 is my workhorse. Only drawback may be lack of shallow depth of field. And it's not the best in low light. For the time I'll live with those $hortcomings$.
