The New DV RigPro! Phhaorhh .. got it . .
Only had my Rig Pro a week or so. Amazing. Camera feels like no weight at all. But hearing reports of breakage from Andy is a bit unsettling. Welds breaking? Ouch! Still it's gotta be better than that Fr#*-- err Fig Rig. Who at Manfrotta let that one get by. Looks clumsy and another arm killer. OK for a few minutes only Comfortable with Rig Pro for hours!

Have little or no DVDA experience - quick "?"
Had the same request from a client. Discovered that most DVD players have loop setting. That's how I show my stuff at trade shows now Rather than burning a looped DVD, set player to loop. Done!

OT: Manfrotto's new "Fig Rig"
Think that Fig Rig would be heavy affter a while. Needs some way to take the weight off. A ball and socket joint perhaps. That attaches to a body brace? Allowing mobility and freedom, but supporting the weight of the camera and the device. Maybe a suspension system? Spring thing? Looks fun though. May have a new idea for on-board racing shots! Pass the duct tape.

A lot to thiink about. Most of project includes velocity changes,----slower. Video tour of high end real estate. adjusted with Sony contrast and brightness. Rendered at 256,---size about 8 MB 512 was better, but file was too big,--- 17 mb. Shot with DVX 100a.

Now that the Dust has settled.
. A/V sync tool. Seems like a small thing, but makes a HUGE difference to me in the way I edit. Works perfectly, no problems, ever. Keeps me from banging my head on the desk when things get out of sync. Alreay saved this guy more than once. An ear-eye-lip co-ordination thing. That pink track takes all the guessing away. Love it!!!

Some thoughts on charging clients for your services...
Decided, about a year ago, when I left working for others in radio/TV for 30+ years to work for myself. So I set up shop and offered my work-related experience as a videographer. Struggled with a name, then decided to use mine. Also have my mug and a bit about me on website, All sounds egotistical I suppose. But I beleive business is about people. A VP with a lot more experience than myself agrees. He says, "it's ALL about people." Business is slowly picking up, But I'm committed to succeed. Too far into it now! And the more I learn the more I'm beginning to realize it's about marketing and perception. Not decpetion. But beng set apart fro the long list of people now doing this full-time,part-time, as a hobby, as a retirement thang, as the video guy at church etc. I think you've got something Clipman. Our job is solving problems,---communcating mostly,---be it advertisiing, training, bios, whatever. Our service is never "video" as in the wedding guy (not that there's anything wrong with that). But to move on to the next plateau. We need to get away from the video guy image. Maybe video's even a bad word. When i say "video",---people say "wedding". Not that there's anything work with that. Just not my cup of tea.

Hey Clipman, You became a consultant. How did that change things? You're still really doing video, but just under another title. You still have to compete for the same business against the same competition,---right? What changed? 'splain to me again, slowly this time.

Maybe Sound Dogs didn't have what I was looking for rather than "they suck". I think they're a pretty straight up professional source of royalty-free music and FX.

Output Problem
Old soundcard was SoundMAX. Sort of piggy-backs onto motherboard. Control Panel indicates not endabled. M-Audio appears there.
