Production Assistant Version 1 License not working
I have emailed VASST a few times and they haven't responded to me. What is their support like?

Production Assistant Version 1 License not working
I think version 1 is 32 bit as the installation reports it can't find a compatible Vegas installation. Version 2 installs but won't accept the the licence from version 1 which is a bummer. This is strange as I'm dual booting and that installation has version 2 installed using my license from ver 1.

Capturing DV tape from Unknown DV Camera
Capturing from a DV camcorder is basically a file transfer. The DV on the tape is already DV Codec format. You should not have had to convert to another codec while capturing. Was this a digital tape camera or analog? You right, the problem was that Vegas's capture option was dropping frames like crazy and also Nero's default capture was erratic. I'm not sure if DV cams have their own build in codecs and as I had these DV tapes and the owner did not know what cam captured them so I assume it was another cam other than Canon.

Capturing DV tape from Unknown DV Camera
This is what I eventually did. In Nero's capture options is 'Custom' profile. In there I could choose any of the installed codecs. Since I had installed the GoPro Cineform, that codec, that was available in the choices. Worked great.

If I don't want to install Vegas 9 then does that mean Product Assistant wont install? What other pluging will do batch rendering.

I did the worse thing ever by filming interlaced. They should remove that option from cameras.

When I choose your template I get terrible interlacing waves (not combing) When I use a template without widescreen then only is it acceptable.

How do I make imported video with alpha work.
I use straight unamatted. What software generated your alpha work. I use stuff from Particle Illusion and it's works great for me

WOT: - Lunar waves
The wave seems too digital and uniform to be a type of heat distortion. If it were a projected image how come I don't capture the lunar wave on my camera.

How 2 tell what codecs Vegas thinks are installed?
@PeterDuke "Or did you mean that you are trying to render a Lagarith coded video to some other codec?" Yes Actually I found out what I need to do. Render to "Video for Windows (*.avi)" Select HD 720-50p YUV. and Customize Template Select Video Format Drop down box then select Lararith Lossless Codec.

How do you nudge clips?
... and using the 0 on the keypad plays a few seconds of the project. You can change the playback duration in the 'Options - Preferences - Editing tab - cursor preview duration (seconds). Very helpful when you want to check transition timing or text or what ever.

How 2 tell what codecs Vegas thinks are installed?
In particle Illusion I render out using Lagarith which needs to be installed for Vegas to read these AVI clips. BluffTitler can also read these PI clips, and then from Blufftitler it can be exported to AVI using Largarith. But when these clips all go into the Vegas project I can't render out using Largarith. I guess what's in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Mouse Right Click is very slow when using Vegas
It takes 3 seconds before the menu comes up. There is no other app running beside anti-virus. Also disconnected from internet. Task manager show no major activity. I'll check for a later driver.

You can tag Subclips...Except you can't...
This was found in the F1 help, searched for Tagging. If you've used previous versions of Vegas Pro, the Project Media window is the window you came to know and love as the Media Pool. Its name was changed to protect the innocent (and prevent confusion with the Media Manager window). hahha

I tried MTS as well as GoPro files and Vegas crashes every time. Anyone else experiencing crashes?

White Flag! 1080i > PAL DVDA . . . . "Field Rips&
Define 'field nonsense' The past week I've had similar 'nonsense' going to DVD PAL from 1920x1080i Captured Canon 1920x1080i. Project settings >PAL DV Widescreen. Used Particle Illusion for intro used Lagarith to output 1280x720p. On the timeline media is mixed. Intro = 15 sec Lagarith 1280x720p clip, then 1920x1080i footage. After rendering I noticed a glitch every 45 seconds or so. First I thought the camera was faulty as it occurred in over 50 renders before I stopped. Then I thought it was the refrigerators thermostat kicking in and out, then the geyser. After switching everything off it still persisted. In the end I rendered out to 1280x720p and all the glitches vanished.

Copy Pan/Crop Key frames without other FX
I often pondered about this option. It's sure nice to be able to paste on all events to the end but I'd also like a selective option as well.

I use Acronis, totally free. It reads the SMART info on the drive chips. Stacks of data to look thru.

VHS to 1280x720 - is it worth it?
Cine movies on the other hand is worth it if the original capture is done correctly. The finals on the super 8 looked fantastic.

Exactly. You'll only get a high quality video of low res movie. So it makes sense to just to rip it to wide screen (16x9) DVD.
