About me Forum Tutorials Comments Guestbook Video on 10/16/2016 Magix, will there be an upgrade offer? It is very very clear that Magix do not care one little bit about anything at all to do with customers from Sony, here is a great example of their update costing.... Sound Forge 11 Pro Sony - Upgrade cost to Sound Forge 11 Pro Magix $149 Sound Forge Audio Studio Sony - Upgrade cost to Sound Forge 11 Pro Magix $149 They have put so so so much effort in to working all this out that they can't even differentiate between an up to date pro licence and a cut down version, and they want me to pay $149 for my pro update, just to have their name on the software hahahahaha What a complete and total bunch of nonsense Video on 10/15/2016 Magix, will there be an upgrade offer? Another interesting thing, my version of Acid is one version back, and the upgrade page is saying invalid serial haha, so no way that can be upgraded. This is all atypical Magix crap and i hope they suffer sales badly for it !! Video on 10/12/2016 Magix, will there be an upgrade offer? @deusx Independence has had no updates since it was bought by Magix, however, Engine (that is the commercial licensable playback device for content providers, based on independance) gets regular updates, Magix could not care less about users, and that is not a user set up issue ;) Video on 10/12/2016 Magix, will there be an upgrade offer? So, I guess there will not be an "upgrade" price for VP14. Getting close to the 16th. In the "clarifications" post we were told "First, the standard upgrade price for VEGAS Pro 14 is $249". I read that to mean that the ongoing upgrade price will be $249. I bet it's still available after October 16th. I, for one, do not believe that Magix cannot verify existing, registered serial numbers. I suspect they've been handed a complete turkey of a database by Sony and are having an absolute nightmare getting it into their licensing database and mailing list, possibly even involving a lot of manual input of data. Don't forget that the upgrade page still only looks at the product code in the serial number you put in, and not whether it's a real serial number. While the change of ownership has not gone well from an existing user's viewpoint in terms of pricing and communication, I still make allowances because it's so recent, and because the key parts of the operation are in separate continents. We have no idea what internal struggles they have gone through. Staying positive, I like to think that soon we'll have a patch that fixes the new bugs, we'll all be properly in the Magix database and mailing list, a more palatable November upgrade offer will come along, and that the future will bring real improvments to the software. Soon have a patch that fixes issues haha, you obviously never used Magix software before, go look at the way they have treated Indepedence customers, they are terrible at releasing fixes. Video on 9/23/2016 Magix, will there be an upgrade offer? Having been a Vegas user since before those lot at Sony took it on and did nothing, I am absolutely fisgusted that Magic are trying to gouge such a huge upgrade fee (£350) for Suite, when all it offers new is some 3rd party stuff i doubt i would use, this is disgusting behaviour and i hope they lose the entire community they think they have bought/own !! 1
