Vegas Crashing
Thanks Nick,As you 'say' that I now remember this has been a long-running problem every time I reinstall Vegas (and I don't do it often enough to remember). Once I turn off the GPU acceleration it usually works fine. Too tired to try it tonight, but first thing in the AM. THANKS FOR THE REMINDER!!!

Video quality loss ?
ummm.. good questions. When I say clarity I guess it's more contrast...brighter. I don't use scopes.. I've been trying to read up on them and it does sound like this would be a good place to start using them. I'll try and see if I can figure them out. Any particular scope you recommend?

Wrong thumb nails in Project Media
Seems like deleting the Media Pool Thumbnails folder was just the ex-lax it needed for constipation.THANKS!!!!!"Another easier approach would be to delete your thumbnail cache folder (AppData\Local\Sony\Vegas 12.0\Media Pool Thumbnails), restart Vegas and then look in Project Media. If the track that can't be read is video, as opposed to audio, then you'll have media with a blank-white thumbnail."

They are stopping in the middle of content. One thing I might do is go back into DVDa and take out all of the markers,. These are single sided discs and I used verbatim last time... trying Phillips now. Now sure what they are playing them on.. they just said several laptops. and a few DVDs (but they are selling them... so one is too many)

I have to admit I'm a little embarrased I didn't think of this (but it's only been a few hours and I may have eventually :-) )I'd love to see what you can do, but we are a non-profit with NO income and I don't want to ask you do to something for no pay.I have been trying to duplicate your matt and have not been able to get the look so that it's blurred, transparent, and hides the old text. Can I ask what plug in did you use ??? (I'm on v13)

it's a full program. probably close to an hours worth of material and it's on all of them. That was another idea I was going to play around with. A lower third or titlle or something like that. I'm looking at blurring it out now. Whatever is not too obnoxious!!!!

What is the reason the OP makes an intermediate file at all? I do all my work in the multicam project, editing, color correction, grading and audio. But if you must make an intermediate, use Sony XAVC-I. I do mostly events and recitals, weddings etc. I generally to my multi cam edits first, then any pan/crop. effect, color etc. Once that's done I like to separate each segment, song, etc into a region, removing dead spots and announcements, render the regions into separate files and place on a timeline in a new project. I keep the first/original project for reference and now can structure the program for smother transitions and put the segments in whatever order is necessary.I also found it necessary to make each segment a separate video file on the timeline....like the time the client gave me the wrong slide show to superimpose and I had to render the full 90 minute program instead of just the 3 minute presentation.

I'm beginning to wonder if it is just a rendering issue. Rendering confusion
I'm not that familiar with nesting projects and don't think I have time to get into that now. OK I'm going to try the Sony MXF widescreen. I couldn't find the ProRes or HQ.TOO MANY CHOICES.I know that's a good thing if you know what you're doing.....but I guess this is how you learn??? LOL Thanks!!
