Thanks I made a still of the sky but the trouble I'm having now is that my bexier tool won't do straight lines so I can't make a cross shape. is ther no way to move/drag points once created? It's not like CorelDraw!

I do that when the clips are named but these are pulled directly from the camera and just have numbers for names which are not meaningful.

I agree, I used to buy NewBlue products but was very put off by the pricing model change the other year and the pressure tactics that came with it - upgrade immediately or loose out. To me in their efforts to get new customers they were turning their backs on the old ones. When the offers came out for Titler Pro 4 that was enough for me to unsubscribe from their mailing lists.

OT Moving files from Canon G20
Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated.. After several attempts I managed to download the manual from Canon's website. They seem to use the term initialise for format. Initialising a memory card wipes it completely but after initialising the built-in memory they say extra files are restored. I guess I will find out.

Thanks, but my question is not about adding video to a project but rather about clearing space on the camera. Can I just delete everything? Will the camera recreate the folders it needs. Apologies if the question is trivial but I don't get how the camera directory structure works.

Titler Pro 4: Look before you leap

When Did You First Use Vegas?
I got VideoFactory 1.0 and 2.0 as well. Never really did much video editing as I was using Acid heavily at the time. I got more use out of Acid 2 than any other version. I think Vegas 6.0 was my first Vegas.

Is VLC best substitute for Win MediaPlayer?
I prefer MPC -BE - it plays more kinds of files than MPC-HC. Not keen on VLC - I find customisation cumbersome. MPC-BE works well from the commandline as well.

Best Software to get your PC running faster?
Yes I think using disk images is a good idea. I even resort to a disk image rather than uninstall a program. Having said this I also use ccleaner. I prefer the slim version. I also think it can be worth installing extra memory into an aging computer - depends on how old the PC/how cheap memory is at the time. I prefer Pale Moon to Firefox.

Why should I switch my PC off. I'm running Windows 7 and it works with less hassle for me than Windows 8. I think you missed what I was getting at. I dislike Apple's business model and have never bought anything from them. Sadly I see Microsoft heading off in the same direction.

For me Windows 8 has not be faster, smoother or more reliable than Windows 7. Just more cluttered/obtuse. My suspected worry/gripe with Windows 10 is the data collection, integration with Microsoft's cloud, erosion of privacy and pushing towards using Microsoft accounts. Windows 8 was bad enough and Windows 8.1 worse. As for GUI from 7 onwards I've only found it usable by installing Classic Shell. What advantages will Windows 10 bring? Will it have tabs for File Explorer? Willl copy/move be at all sensible (has got generally more verbose/confusing over time). Will file search be usable - I doubt it. Microsoft are tugging at the coat tails of Apple, sad but unsurprising.

Finding Missing Files - Changed Drive
Yes, I just wish Vegas had better methods for finding replacements. It doesn't even show the full path of the missing file unless it is short. It should have the existing file path presented in an editable box. It should allow the user to search folders rather than just whole drives. I've also experienced it asking for multiple files in the same folder (I think because the file type was different). This is version 13 and I don't think the file replacement method has changed once since Sony took over, if ever. It should be better.

Thanks, but that doesn't sound practical. I have dozens of projects to change. No alternative? Vegas needs better tools for re-syncing paths.

I have several 3TB+ drives formatted using GPT in an external bay. They show up as non-removable in Windows but when the system is off I can remove/replace them without problems. Perhaps the info you read refers to hot-swapping? That I wouldn't try.

3TB Disk Partition S/w needed
Are you using windows 7, 664 bit? If so just use the built in Windows Disk Management. Type diskmgmt.msc into the search box. I would format the drive to use GPT so that the partition size can be over 2TB. With drives used for storage I don't partition the hard drive at all. I just set up a 3 TB drive yesterday. You only need to use tools provided by companies like EaseUS if you want to change the size of partitions with drives containing data.
