Sweet camera for the price, just did a corporate shoot with it and the battery life is a big pita. The footage plays very well in Vegas. Unfortunately, I have no place to upload footage. Any easy ideas?

2560 x 1440 Monitor Compatibility
New Asus 27 inch, 2560 x 1440, just installed. Looks fantastic! Icons and text is shockingly small, but readable, bright, and clear. Soon it will be an old hat, but initially shocking. If you struggle with moving plugins to adjust properties like me this monitor is worth the save on wrist strain and time.

SMART TV output
Not at a computer as of now, but that version does not sound right. I use the masterworks at 2 MBS. The quality is astounding and the data rate is unbelievable low. This is for HD. If you using higher rates you are using lame or old algorithms.

Amount on DVD for VHS Transfers
Better encoders look better with lower bit rates. Most encoders look good at high bit rates, but look bad with low bit rates. Invest in a good encoder, if you want more footage at lower bit rates on a dvd. Tmpg is an example of a great encoder.

Vega Pro 12 keeps crashing as it renders
It's not just crashes but performance hits when 4 cam multi editing. That is why I set it to 0 in v12. I need at least 20 frames a second with no hiccups when cutting.

Vegas 12 handles 50m xavcs well. I haven't tried multicam editing so be aware. The CX 900 is a great cam on sale today at bhphoto for $1200. I imagine the models above with 1 inch sensor to be phenomenal.

Upgrades
The mob has spoken... Actually it is more subjective than factual. V13 is the worse upgrade available worth nothing, IMO. V12 was the best upgrade, IMO. It's up to you if the upgrade price is worthwhile.

I use daplayer because the pause and rewind works better than vlc which glitches out if I pause etc.

3 x 60p shoot.. First time.
Shoot plenty of b roll. You'll never know when you'll need it and it can be used for enhancements.

Possible explanation for some slow renders .. bug?
I had the same result with a different bug. Sony refuses to get their head out of sand.
