When Vegas Pro 15 ?
i am totally baffled by what is happening...last year I did not update to 14 because of the mess with the offer for upgrading (wait for...) and planning to skip for the 1st time an update. Now I am getting a 149 euro's offer. So, just start to wonder about what's going on with V15. Is it 1 year away or 6 months or 2 years or what? Really confusing.

A few clarifications
I received an extended offer to purchase by October16th, but the price remains the same. Apparently, no one from Magix is reading the comments in this forum. do they really think we are gullible with a longer time to "think it over" tactic. Well, they might read and stick with their decision anyway....we have no idea about people complaining vs all those who bought it anyway (either old 13+14 or 14 update price..)

A few clarifications
Well, well. IMHO is either way: - Magix said that they received a messy files with all users, they had no idea on how many pple were upgrading/buying the software - Magix had a clear idea on how many subscribers/buyers there were After their promotional 13+14 offer probably their goal was reached, and they did not need more people to jump in or they wilfully sacrified those "few" (whom either they knew or they guessed) would have been pissed by the upgrade price. As I already said, I won't upgrade (I did purchase all from version 6 up, but the 7th). I think the wording " waiting for an offer" was definitively misleading: ye, it is not "lied by implication", but that looks likes an excusatio non petita (get your latin dictionary for that)..

Magix, will there be an upgrade offer?
Ok, let's make it quick.I have owned all vegas version since version 6 (i might have skipped the 7th only) + DVD Architect till the last one. I did not need another copy of 13 so when I read "Those of you who already use VEGAS Pro 13 will receive a separate upgrade offer in September. Hang tight!.." I hanged tight...now looks like It was not tight enough. And we were used to have 1 month to decide whether or not to upgrade, now is like 7 days.My guess is too many people grabbed the 13+14 offer, and magix looks like they do not care about the rest no matter how much money (ok, it went to sony but..) they invested on the platform.Sad to say bye bye 14...I think I will Resolve it by ending from Black with "c" instead of "x"

Ridiculous Registration Process
I think I did as it was recommended and have received one mail from magix, but dont' think is specific with my previuos sony registration, just a generic welcome one (I mean, there is not any of my products registered over here at magix).Just wondering if I am considered by magix as a newly registered costumer or a previuos owner of Vegas 6, 8,9,10, 11, 12,13 + DVD architect up to the latest one. Someone over here have seen their product registration somewhere over here?

Namespace change coming for VEGAS Pro 14
Well, if you use a brand name like "sony" you have to license it. No company would give it for free for a long time without an attached licensing contract (a brand name has a value, you cannot licence for free=giving it a way). The only reasonable thing Magix could do is tasking themselves (if the plugin author agrees) to update & rewrite those plugins....or include said functions in VegasPro....

POLL - Should MAGIX change the name?
I never liked the "vegas" name (also because when you google for tips/tutorials you end up in other stuff). Having said that, already few people know about it, discarding a name would mean investing lot of money in advertising and marketing, doesn't make sense. Magix Vegas or something like that would mean new product with a legacy. If desperately need a new/different name and keep some name sounding heritage: "VEGAX"

Just curious - How Much?
not easy to set a value. Existing Customer base, yes, but how many will feel the need/will to upgrade? But the code looks like to be rewritten from scratch, thus value is somehow pretty low if the plan is to stay in the market( and we are talking about PRO editing, which is rather mature and already split btw few big payers). And I dont' think there were many buyers willing to pay much, considering the investment needed to mantain/rewrite the code. Making money not easy...you can get DaVinci for free...and if you are on Mac you can buy once FCPX..and receive free update.

NAB 2016 - No Sony Creative Software Showing???
No, please Corel NO....the way they killed a beutifully & working DVD authoiring software like Ulead DVD Workshop.... Silence at the show could really possibly mean sale is looming, the fact they released catalyst doesn't mean much, this could have been in the pipeline for some time. These decisions in such a big company are taken at top level (and I think SCS in term of turnover means nothing) and nobody at lower levels knows for sure what is going to happen...until "weird" things happens like not being at the show, not having clear release roadmap for the future...+ some people, feeling somethin, started to quit or are laid off

Well, if you read the carefully worded reply they do fit a product which was being launched and is withhold due to unexpected delay...."not available at the moment"...
