+1 Seemingly very little default hardware-support in VP Classics such as Behringer BCR and BCF2000 sould realy be supported also Quality long motorised faders, and endless dials, not just buttons, total recall,.. Much used in Adobes programs, and much more, so why not VP ? Should take a skilled developer relativey short time to say implement the 15-20 most used devices as default

What do I need to do to make Vegas 17 stable?
In danger of repeating myself but anyway ... IMHO don’t use VP17 on anything complex/important until the first update arrives, if you can do it in an earlier version. Its simply too buggy and unstable, my experience and plenty of others. Thanks for repeating this ,... it should realy be stressed again and again Consider VP17 upgrade ,.. but only in a max-solid version ,.. and only on BF sale with a significant reduction 1. But does "first update" historically always iron out essential bugs in a sufficient way ? 2. Is it likely to be updated before the Black Friday 29 November ? My hardware is compareable to OP ,... just I only got a single GTX1060-6GB ,... but 32GB ram

A special upgrade price was made available for Mercalli, after VP14, I think, not certain, $99. I purchased same. @Former user Thanks You are right ,.. and the offer is still available It seems like my serial-number does qualify No matter what version VP17 I get, if Mercalli is very superior to VP17 own stabilizer, I guess its wort considering I can see that the Sony AZ1 action-cam that I uses a lot is directly supported Besides AZ1 used on motorcycle and kayak ,.. Lumix FZ1000 will be used a lot handheld ,..

The Lens Flare 3D FX is part of the Continuum Light Unit which is in the Suite. @Marco. Thanks for clearifying !!!! 1. Is the 4-5 extra main plugs worth it for a rookies everyday-use ? Only you can make that decision. Only you can decide if the plugins will help in your creative decision-making in the editing process. The best way to help decide this is to go to Boris' website https://borisfx.com/products/continuum-units/ and look at the plugin examples under the Continuum Units product page. With regards to SpectraLayers, check Steinberg's website https://new.steinberg.net/spectralayers/ for the trial version. If only one or two are attractive, an option is to get the VP17 Edit version and purchase independently from Boris the Unit - but first check out Boris' upgrade/support policy for individual Units as I think it differs from Continuum Complete which is based on an annual subscription. @Dexcon Thanks a lot for your detailed and helpful answer SpectraLayers,. no Borisfx, 1 or 2 maybe ,.... hard to say at the moment not knowing whats up and down Titteling, transitions, and shake-reduction,.. might be most on the wishlist, if VP17 is short on these I guess (Travel-documentery, from the hills and MC action-cam, musicvideoes with colorfull efx, educational tech-stuff) 3. Hi, I never used NewBlue FX titler as it was regularly crashing and I can do much more with Borix FX Title Studio but one sure thing is that you will not be able to use proDad Mercalli that came with Vegas Pro Suite 14. Also, I believe that you will lose the Mocha tracking tool integrated in Vegas Pro Suite 2014; yes, Vegas developed a tracking tool in later versions but Mocha is by far superior. As said in a previous comment, you can certainly go and buy individual Boris FX modules but you cannot buy them as upgrades, so you pay the full price tag... and it becomes very expensive. That is why I stick with VP Suite 14 because compared to VP Suite 17, I would lose a decent stabiliser and the Mocha tracking tool. Note that they seem to have upgraded the stabiliser this year but the one in VP 16 was still inferior to ProDad Mercalli V4... @Dock Thanks, all usefull info, good to be prepared and dressed for the choice, whenever it will happen

I just bought a GTX1060 6GB for £200. Hardly state of the art but it allows me to preview 4K with effects in full resolution on 3 x full HD monitors. That takes just 11% of the GPU for preview, double that when an effect is playing . Be sure to get the latest Nvidia Studio driver which Nvidia states is optimised for Vegas VP17. Thats with an i7 and 16GB ram. That is sure uplifting to hear, I got these parts: Asus Z97A, i7 4790K, GTX1060 6GB, 32GB RAM, 256GB NVME system drive, 1TB SSD, 3TB WD Red My screen is a 43" 4K Phillips ,... forgot the model I consider upgrading an old V14 licens to V17 and start out with some video, totally rookie 😀 I take what you say as my system is a decent "beginner-solution" to get started, even with a little 4K ??? (foremost I guess it will be HD stuff from my Sony AZ1 helmet cam, and lumix FZ200, FZ82, and FZ1000)

Never mind, I will order in a few moments, without taking Vegas into consideration. Been away for a while, but Just been having a look around this forum, and there is still so many important new and old issues with Vegas that I don't believe I will even install and try it out any time soon. My time is simply to pressures for fighting and being test-rabbit for something that seems to mature far to slow, sorry to say. Maybe version 16, 17, or 18,... Also its needed, but ignored, that customers can get a clear answer as to what hardware they intend to support, in both medio and long term, to many loose ends,.. Most likely it will be Premiere insteadt, but I will then have a look back here in 12-18 mounths from now. Hope my money for version 14 is not totally wasted obviously.

Graphics card choice
Fine if we could get latest update/opinions on this topic. I am on the market for a slim-line, one unit, GPU to replace my wayyy to big GTX950,.. in my Z97/4790K system, and a 43" Phillips Monitor to be driven at 4K / 60hz. Video camera will foremost be Panasonic FZ300, up to 4K, and some old GoPro. I do 90 pct music and photo, but bought Vegas 14 to be updated to 15 later, and will do a little video every now and then, my question should considered in this context. I am looking into P400, but noticed P600, and P1000 as well being slimline. P1000 got 4GB, but unfortunately is to expensive it seems. Main difference seems to be amount of cuda-cores as far as I can tell, but don't know how much emphasis to put on that. I will order a new card later today, or tomorrow,.. Vegas sliding out of my workflow
Yes, basic bugs and issues must be fixed, I also return to this forum only to follow up on the current situation, I don't do any video-editing currently, but had an old version 6 that I upped for version 14, bundeled with Sound Forge, when the "good"offer was there. To tell the trouth I realy think I wasted my money, even the few bucks, Sound Forge is like a ghost town, left several years ago, Vegas is obviously still in the mess Sony left us with. I think its good that Magix came into the picture, all was already dead and in the grave, but Magix got an awfull lot to get done, and prove. As it is now I will not even start up using Vegas, getting it was an mistake, for my small uses I right now use Premiere Elements insteadt. And will end up with the Premiere Full version unless I read about several bugs and unstability being addressed in deept. Untill then no more money going to Magix, not even 50 bucks. I think the users patience with Vegas has already been far to long. Now is the time to deliver !!!!

Vegas Pro 13 + 14 Upgrade offer ends tomorrow? Not enough info on 14
I have decided to drop the offer, there will likely be plenty of offers later as well. Sony have molested the software for years and it will take Magix a very long periode to clean up that mess, and fix bugs and unsolved issues. It will be version 15, or more likely version 16, before I maybe will give it a try. Want to see reports about the software being much more solid and bug-free, what formats supported, and much more detailed info about gfx/hardware-support, what outside plugs will be available on the platform, and what direction development will be taken in general. It's also absolutely nessesary that I see Magix being open about developement, and present at the forum, visible, and in constant contact with the users,... not hiding away, with nose-up attitude like Sony. At that time, when Magix has saved the sinking ship, like we all hope for, I will gladly pay the full price, in case they have succeded, but in the meantime there is plenty of hard work to do, I will follow the community closely,...

Got that email from Magix also ,.. saing "Valid until 31 July, 2016" They never updated with a new email ,.. to confirm the new date ,.. So there is two thing's being a bit strange Let's just wait for them to step in, confirm the new date officially, and fix the last step in the order-procces, so it is actually full visible what is being paid for My guess is they just got things set up wrong

I got 6 PC's upgraded in last minute from W7 and W8.1 Just to keep them up to date now that it was free Sofar no problems, seems smooth and nice, everything still works,... Feels like a little increase in speed Guess I like W10 better than W8.1 ,.. also for the look and handeling
