May sound like a bit of a random comment, but I think it's a shame the SCS Hitfilm relationship didn't go further. I remember feeling quite excited about the possible road map that I guess was never to be.

Backup Software Recommendations
I've just switched to Acronis True Image 2015 and its driving me nuts. I've used Macrium reflect free and paid versions and both work really well. Doing a little research there's a serious number of people that are unable to restore using acronis. It also can't seem to cope very well with running diskfrag between incremental/differential backups. The only reason I switched was because I'm now using a Drobo 5D Raid and macrium doesn't support virtual drives/windows shadow copy. Macrium is simple straightforward and works, gets my vote every time.

Inserting still Photos in timeline
Definitely try Timeline Tools. I create movies which are a fusion of 50-100 video clips with around 350 stills which just wouldn't be practical without a product like Timeline Tools. Very easy to screw up when your just dragging and inserting on a multiple track timeline, with TLT you select exactly what you want and where you want it, and if you still get it wrong the vegas undo button puts it all back in just one click. And the supports good to.

White Balance Correction Plug In
I think I've tried most of the white balance plugins and FBmn is probably the best. Also the exposure control plugin is the best I've ever used in Vegas. With time I can normally achieve the same manually using MBL, or sony but it takes me a lot longer. The WB and colour temperature plugins in Hitfilm is pretty good to.

OT - Bad experience with a Wedding Photographer
Totally unacceptable behaviour. If we all name and shame these individuals with a couple of short clips on youtube it might make them think twice before behaving in this way.

Well said. In my experience the saying "those that can do and those that can't teach" always sounds a little unfair but with so much misinformation around, learning a craft is hard. Unfortunately it seems those that can are always busy and have little time for teaching. The other point I've noticed is that people I believe to be really good at what they do, seldom have an unkind word or criticise others work, how ever poor it may seem.

Vegas Help>Search = CRASH!
I've had three crashes using search. tried a search for split edit, no error just locked up solid and had to kill vegas and restart, so no bug report sent. Not sure if I've had it since latest build though. Been using vegas for over ten years never seen this before.

5 videos for church
Dave T2 Lots of comments about stabilization and there probably right, but I thought its worth a mention as to why, when sometimes hand held can be great if not overdone. For me the only reason it jars is because all the films have a soft/slow emotional feel to them with focus on the subject and lovely music to match so any movement that isn't as smooth as silk (i.e. match the tempo) will jar like hell. Farss point about the last film breaking the 180 rule is a shame because it spoils a good sequence, sometimes you can get away with this by flipping the image in post but it doesn't always work, but I'm often amazed by what an experienced editor can achieve. Anyway, enjoyed watching them and hopefully your church did to.

Magic Bullet Looks 2.5 install
Well that didn't work. Your right Dexcon we need to have both versions installed. Spoke again to Red Giant who now realise there is no backward compatibility for Vegas Pro 13 users when moving to version 2.5. But all is not totally lost because if you have been creating custom pre sets, ver 2.5 can find these no problem so you could convert a project to ver 2.5 for a re edit if needed. Now we just need Gary to give us a Pro 13 version of TLT's Please............

You can get rid of the old version. The version previous to 2.5 was reliant on a standalone program, while version 2.5 is a self-contained plugin. iPad lockup
I've been using it quite a lot, had one lock up when using gestures, killed and restarted the ap on the ipad and it's been ok. I'm really hoping SCS will continue to develop this ap. it could be really useful.

Automatically place Markers on music beats
Thanks Gary that's no problem. Any further development of this product would be really appreciated, being able to produce markers in this way opens up a whole new area in editing stills & video. Would it ever be possible to see real time when beats are being detected/exported as you play a music track so that you could tune the controls on the fly ?

Hi Gary, I can save & import and export markers in ultimate s but the txt format is different from yours. Mixeimister gives me a BPM number for me to place markers at x intervals etc. My line of thinking was your program may end up being the fastest/most accurate method of creating beat marks so I'll try your earlier suggestion of how to save them.

Gary this is great. Up till now I've been using Mixmeister to calc the BPM then using ultimate S to load markers and tweek from there. I'm no musician but I do know that beats can shift in music and your program seems to pick up on this although it can loose it for a few seconds which is probable down to me needing to tune the analyser. Question is when I've finished all the tweeking of markers for a piece of music is there a way to save the marker positions using TLT so I can re import using your script next time I use that piece of music.

Tricky Stabilize Question
Hi John, The point is that you usually trim the clip on the timeline as part of your edit, but when you stabilize Vegas selects the whole clip which can mean you end up with a large amount of crop because its trying to stabilize footage that your not even using using that may contain large movements.
