HitFilm 3 Pro For Free?
Has anyone on these forums used Hitfilm as well as Magic Bullet Looks for the looks effect? I know HF is a lot more in other areas but I am interested in the color grading right now. All input appreciated. RZ

Looks like we went off in a different direction. Let me re formulate the question: if I have AVCHD source files, is there a file format that I can use so that subsequent renders/ encodes to MPEG 2 and 4 are fast. RZ

"unless you have special editing requirements, avchd can be taken off the cam and placed directly onto disc and played in most blu ray machines" ___________________________________________________________________ I will be recording to the AVCHD format in the near future. I will edit it, mostly cuts. I plan to color correct/grade with MBL. I plan to store the master file (possibly avi) and then use the master to create delivery formats (mp4). Disk space is no issue. Long rendering times from AVCHD is. I have downloaded the free GoPro (old Cineform). I encoded to AVI files but so far they dont have audio ?? with the clips. trying to figure out.Anyone who is experienced in optimal workflow could chime in. Thanks a lot guys. RZ

Vegas 12 & AVCHD editing
I have problem with rendering mostly. If I apply some video effects such as Magic bullet Looks, it took 6 hrs to render 40 minutes of video. Then if i discover that minor changes have to be made, it is same all over again. I want to explore a way that could accelerate rendering. That is why I am exploring the possibilities of Intermediates so that if re renders have to be done, it will be a little easy. RZ

WOT: drive letters
A couple of things RZ: 1. Are the external drives formatted as Basic or Dynamic? They should be formatted as Basic if you move them from computer to computer. ------------------------------------ The drives are connected to a single computer. No, I did not get a chance to rename the drives yet: pretty busy at my day job. Plan to do this coming weekend. Thanks all. RZ

WOT: Data recovery Old Drives
Lot of useful input from you guys. Thanks. I managed to look in a few disks so far with "recuva". Some useful files recovered. Fortunately, I had my pictures and videos on separate drives so that was good. I have heard there are services that actually shred the drives. Anyone has sky experience with that. RZ

Based on your suggestions, I have starting attaching the drives (some had crashed in the past), one at a time via external enclosures. I downloaded a trial version of Runtime software. It is running a scan. So we will see how it turns out. You guys rock. RZ

Nice clip. I am trying to get into HDSLR video with Canon 5d3.i have 24-105L. I know there are lenses specifically advantageous to video. Is there anyone here who has more experience and could direct me to such lenses. Thx. RZ
