Captured footage came out strange
How the heck did my settings get altered in my Panny dvx00a? Recapturing with Scenalyzer should correct this? What settings in scenalyzer? Thanks for your response, it really helps.

Hello! All Just logged on. I uploaded some footage, it was a favor to a friend, some wrestling going on. I captured via firewire, and used scenalyzer. I agree scenalyzer is great and I almost always never get dropped frames with it. "have you matched project properties to footage?" I tried several pulldowns, especially the correct one. I will try to capture again again and try other pulldowns. I'm wondering what the heck I did when I shot the video! I turned off antivirus as I was capturing just to make sure. Tried to match media settings before importing to Vegas but that didn't help. Captured footage came out strange
Yikes! Sorry. Captured at 29 fps, from a DVX100A Panny, minidv tape. I am not sure what I did wrong. Tried several pulldowns but to no avail.

Jason, Thats very similar to my home dvd player. Been doing this for quite some time, I'm surprised few have noticed this.

Well, I have been doing somehting similar for about a year now. I bought a Pioneer DVD home player with a USB input. I just copy whatever dvix movies, also those with vob files, and play them on my tv. The DVD player calls up a menu on screen and actually shows all my files, including jpegs, and png's I believe. Just to see if it would work, I also got an external USB drive, an old 80 gig, and the DVD player also recognized it. The menu comes up and I can select whatever I want to watch. Go figure! I don't even burn dvd's anymore, just save it ti flash drive or external usb drive.

Sony Creative Software is a sad sad joke
I seriously doubt Vegas is the culprit in this instance. There is either a soft Windows issue, some registry orphaned files, or perhaps an impending hardrive problem. When your files go a missing, some data gets corrupted because the drive is failing. Another possibility, did you overclock your drive? is it overheating? Again, I do not think Vegas is the issue, more than likely its a user related problem.

Windows 7
Desoite the merits/shotcomings of Apple/Mac that crowd seems to cultish for me. I just never could get used to the apple's idead of a desktop, too much geeky-whiz bang, distracting, etc, etc, stuff going on. Like it was made for 15 year olds.

How to make a photo 3d?
Well I tried using this app, which looks like it has been abondoned but nonetheless still available for download. Problem with Alpha Channel?
Jusat by chance, did you uncheck/check the "FX Bypassed" on the Video Preview window? That could be your problem. Go and click on it and see if it cleared your problem.

I am already scared of 9.0b
I just caught a greenscreen bug as well. It seems that when I place a png image on the timeline and add a greenscreen to it, only half the image will be screened out. Very unusual to say the least! Hope this one gets fixed as well.

Serious questions for 9.0 users
Ok another update in my ongoing saga. I was abl to reinstall Vegas 9.0a all over again after yet another registry cleansing. I was able to opne the veg file in question, and promptly made a back up by changing under another name should things go awry. But, no matter what I do, the "Error Reporting Launcher" and "File Surrogate" error are showing up in the process under task manager. I can't seem to shake them off! LOL! Any more suggestions? P.S. No longer getting the Media error as reported in my first post.

Serious questions for 9.0 users
Thanks for your reply. The veg files I created were on 9.0a version, and not from an earlier version and opened on 9.0a. So it isn't due to backwards incompatibility I am afraid. So far, I have scoured the registry and deleted all references to Vegas, Newblue plugins, after I deleted them. To make sure I would have a clean reinstall of vegas. That didn't work either, the Error Launcher poped up again. Ran two registry cleaners, uploaded all Microsoft fixes, including NetFramework 3.5. I ave not done any bios changes for a long while, so I do not think that is the issue. I'm really stumped!

Serious questions for 9.0 users
The veg file was created on this one sytem with the problem and worked on exclusively on this very same system. I have not imported or exported to any other system. What I did do was open and worked with jpeg's and png's with paint shop pro while I had Vegas opened. That was never a problem with any earlier versions of vegas.

xberk, I am getting the error after I work on a veg file and after I open it a couple times later, the error happens. Yeah, I can create veggies but after several instances of opening and saving them, the veg file becomes corrput.

Serious questions for 9.0 users
CCleaner didn't help at all. I am uptodate on all the WinXP fixes. I'm pulling hairs right now...running out of ideas. I even tried stoping processes one ata time to see if any of them might be the culprite but no dice. I'm wondering whether an nvdia driver update I did might be causing the problem?

Guy, I appreciate the help, and in fact I did run XPRegistry Repair Pro and went to Windows updates and did all that as well. Maybe I'll try CCleaner and see if that program finds anything the other missed. Thanks for the help.

I have Viper anti virus on on it, which I stopped before I installed. I'm thinking that there is some driver, dll, or program that is screwing with the Vegas install. I'll keep chipping away at this I suppose...

Video demo of Generated Media UNDO issue
I had placed about 10 generated media on the timeline and they all defaulted to "sample media"! That was too funny...but tragic. Now I'm looking at a titler where I can generate what I want and import it into Vegas. How sad........

Seriously, I can't seem to resolve these two glitches in Vegas: 1. The ErrorReportingLauncher - had to rename the error launcher to keep it from starting 2. The FileSurrogate error - had to add the ";" to another file as suggested in the knowledge base, to keep it from loading. What else do I need to do to get Vegas to run properly? I mean when I load a veg it reads only 30%, the clips do load but the file eventually gets corrupted after several attempts at opening it again.
