You are confusing unregulated with uncontrolled airspace. There is no unregulated airspace in the USA but controlled airspace generally begins at 500 ft because ATC radar is unreliable at low altitudes. The FAA regulates airspace from the ground to 60,000 ft. when anything leaves the ground the flight is governed by FAA rules exclusively. Controlled airspace is that where ATC can provide radar coverage and separation of participating aircraft. That is aircraft on an IFR flight plan and VFR aircraft with a transponder requesting ATC services. That typically happens at 500 ft because below that ATC radar coverage is unreliable. The answer to the question of how much airspace do you own is answered in the 1946 case U.S. vs. Causby, the Supreme Court said landowners have exclusive right of airspace surrounding their property. In part, the decision says “The landowner owns at least as much of the space above the ground as the can occupy or use in connection with the land”. The SCOTUS decision of last century is still good. Navigable airspace is an undefined term. Drones are navigating in the NAS, so that would make it navigable airspace even though it is in uncontrolled airspace. So, an overflight of 100 ft or even 50 ft over your typical home is probably not trespass. If you stop to watch the teenage daughter sunbathing nude, then you are likely violating trespass laws regardless of your altitude. We don't need a definition of how much airspace does the homeowner own because there are already plenty of state and local laws covering trespass - we don't need any more rules. These laws are technology agnostic, meaning that it doesn't matter if you're using a drone or a camera on a pole. Trespass is trespass. Shooting down a drone would likely violate weapon discharge ordinances and would also be a violation of 18 U.S. Code § 32 - 'Destruction of aircraft or aircraft facilities'. Shooting at a drone 200ft up is not protecting anything. Period. Unless the drone shoots first.

Why does Vegas crash when Ram preview is above 0?
That's a more than sufficient system, but why so little memory? The MB supports 32Gb, so that would be the first step. I have my RAM preview set to 16Gb because I like to do long shift-B previews. Are you overclocking?

WOT: Security Cam Aspect Ratio...
Composite Video is also known as EIA RS170 Specification. By definition it is 4:3. If you can find a display that would show widescreen composite, the image would be stretched. It's not false advertising. The *camera* sensor is probably a 976x474 component, but what you are seeing is most likely 488x474 when it's smashed into a composite signal.

Advice from DVD Sellers / Death of Optical Media
I have not been asked for a Blu Ray disc in years. If I deliver anything physical, it's a DVD. I only buy Tyo-Yuden Watershield blanks. I make my label image in Photoshop and use the Epson Print CD program to paint the disc faces. The quality is just outstanding. I use Photoshop to make my DVD menus. here is how I do them: http://mmdv.com/vegastips/index.php?title=DVDA#How_to_Make_a_DVD_Menu_like_the_Ones_from_Hollywood Using this process, I can pretty much replicate most Hollywood-style DVD menus. I use DVDA to make the DVD files and "burn" an iso file, then I use IsoBurn to make the first DVD. Then I have a 10-slot duplicator that I built. Hope this helps.

Issues editing on a 4k external display
You don't say what monitor is connected to which display adapter, but remember that the maximum resolution in most display adapters is shared with the output ports. In my case, I can drive two 2K monitors or one 4K monitor. Have you tried dedicating one display adapter to the 4K display alone? Also note the specs for the 680 say: "3840x2160 at 30Hz or 4096x2160 at 24Hz supported over HDMI. 4096x2160 (including 3840x2160) at 60Hz supported over Displayport."

How do I reduce color loss in Chroma Keyer?
You have an awful lot of green everywhere I look in the image, so of course the overall color will change when you drop out the green. Even your green is not green, so if you are using that color to drop out the green, you are also dropping out some red and blue: You might try using the secondary color corrector first to change the background to pure green.

OT: Google Chrome
Nick, since you rely on ad revenue to generate income, please answer this - do you have any control over what ads are placed on your content? I use AdBock because I am sick and tired of the Male Enhancement and Buy Gold Now ads that seem to predominate. (Hmm, does that tell you about my browsing pattern?) I also installed AdBlock on my mother-in-law's laptop because she was loaded with unwanted software and eight different toolbars, all from clicking on ads. A year later her laptop is still clean and fast. Maybe if advertisers stopped acting like carnival barkers on the strip (if you've ever been to Las Vegas, you know what I mean), then AdBlock would lose its popularity. I don't see AdBlock=piracy, I see it more as a tool for responsible users. By the way, I have Whitelisted some sites on my AdBlock precisely because the ads they show are relevant to me and they are not offensive.

Predicting rendering size - impossible question ??
"I'm tired of getting to DVD A and finding out the file size is too big." Right-click on the the mpg and ac3 files. Select "Properties". If the two files total less than 4.7Gb then you are good to go. You should never let DVDA recompress your file - use a bitrate calculator and do it right in Vegas.

Power Supply
OP - If the PC was an off-the-shelf model, then the manufacturer probably specified a power supply that was just enough for the PC as shipped. Add a second HDD, optical drive, more powerful GPU, even more memory and other peripherals and you could shorten the life of the PSU. Do not confuse the input power with the power supply specs - they are not related. Power supply ratings are the maximum combined draw for the 3.3V, 5V and 12V rails. Exceed any of the PSU output ratings and you will stress the supply, even if your total draw as measured on the input side are less than the PSU overall rating. The rule of thumb is that you should never run a PC with less than a 600W PSU, and if you are going to load it with drives and dual-GPUs, then go to 1,000W.

OT: Three monitor capable GPU
The gotchas are - DO NOT MIX manufacturer cards. If you are going to run multiple GPU cards, they should all be from the same manufacturer, or better, identical cards. This eliminates any driver conflict issues. Note the specs - when you use a multi-head card for multiple monitors, you will likely be sharing the card bandwidth. A card that advertises 4K resolution may not be able to deliver 4K when it's supporting more than one monitor. HDMI to DVI works fine for text-based displays - video sucks.

Multi Camera.- how to delete a cut
Before I make the multicam track, I make a copy of each video track, put them into a group, minimize the group and mute it. If I am only one or two transitions past the mistake, I just CTRL-Z back to the error and resume. If it's something I want to return to later, I finish the editing then fall back to my backup tracks and make the transition manually.

What computer parts should I upgrade for editing?
You system is similar to mine, but I have a Gigabyte motherboard and 32Gb of RAM and two GPUs. Vegas thrives on CPU power. You will get the most bang for the buck from a faster processor, but yours is already close to the top. I edit HDV all the time and I don't get any choppy preview until I start adding F/X, transitions and generated text graphics - all at the same time. What are you editing and do you see the choppy preview all the time?

I really like Vegas for all things editing, but the Credits Roll is really, really bad. It's simple, almost too simple, but the text renders really crappy. I use Videotagger (http://videotagger-free-edition.findmysoft.com/). It also has its bugs, but makes a much cleaner credit roll. And it's free.
