Is there a "Strip / Remove Silence" function in Vegas?
Are you sure the file shrinks? I thought that even if there was silence and you rendered a file, you still had silence (which took up disk space). Trimming is a different function all together, it actually removes the silence, because the silence has been edited out (no regions) so the file shrinks. Regards, Rich

Is there a "Strip / Remove Silence" function in Vegas?
The functions in Logic and the 2480 are similar. The regions are sized by threshold, pre and post lengths. This would be a great feature in Vegas. Once the silence was removed, the edited project could be saved as a trimmed one, thus saving disk space. Thanks for the responses. Regards, Rich

New CD Architect!!!
Hopefully the registered Vegas Video 3 people will get a great discount. I purchased VV3 for Disk At Once. I still use Samplitude for my mastering, however with the SEKD/EMAGIC/MAGIX mess, I don't think I will be upgrading. I am using all my SoFo software more and more each week. This could make for a very stable, productive DAW system. Regards, Rich

brokeinside, Nice job! I listened to the tune at least five times. I am impressed with the production quality, as the MP3 sounded very good on crap-ola computer speakers. Very balanced, all the frequencies were good, nothing bad jumped out and the vocals, very nice. You couldn't have done a better job (even in Protools). Proves once again, it's not the app, it's the people behind it. Regards, Rich

CD Burning w/ effects in real time?
Thanks for the replies. I haven't done a CD in Vegas yet (use Samplitude alot) but I will give it a try. I am curious to hear the sound quality of the finished CD. Regards, Rich

Opinions on Samplitude?
Hello, I have been a registered Samplitude user for a while (couple years). It IS the mastering program for me! The features are excellent. Has a GREAT sound. Burns Disk At Once (Red Book) CDs. Has some great effects. I like the way it handles/edits audio. The new version looks very very good. More features etc. I have never had a complaint or problem with CDs mastered / burned with Samplitude. Sound Forge 6.x could be as good, or better if Disk at Once CD burning was implemented. I use ACID for my composing, Logic for my sequencing and Samplitude for my mastering. Hope this helps. Rich
