Pan Crop basic issue very frustrating because I'm a beginner still
You have used 2 different terms so I want to make sure we are discussing the same thing. In the Pan Crop window is an option to MATCH OUTPUT ASPECT. That is what I am discussing. You mentioned "MASK ASPECT OUTPUT" and "MAINTAIN ASPECT OUTPUT". Neither is what I mentioned. I will post a video showing using "MATCH OUTPUT ASPECT" that will show no cropping of the original image. My mistake, you seems to understand what I meant though. I meant the "match output aspect" option. Your example crops the images when you use the "match output aspect" option, just like I said. You need to manually change the position size in the pan/crop window to stop that. Whatever is in the position size is what the event size is. If you have an image that is 200x200 in a 1920x1080 project & change the position size to 1920x1080 the event will be treated as that size. If you have an image that is 2000x2000 in a 1920x1080 project & change the position size to 200x200 it will be treated as that size. If you place an event on it's own track no keyframes are required if it's only a single motion. Vegas allows unlimited tracks so this is a non-issue (track grouping makes things even more organized) and I've never noticed render time increases for using more tracks with just events on them w/o any track level effects. You said using "match output aspect" doesn't crop out anything from an image and the videos proved me correct. I still say it's a bad habit to get in to as a beginner for the same reasons I stated above. It works, but doesn't mean it's best practice.

I invite you to put an image from a digital camera on the TL in a project, apply "maintain aspect output" to it via pan/crop & show me in the pan/crop window it not cropping out part of the photo. :)

I will disagree a bit with HappyFriar. Pan/Crop is perfectly fine for what you are doing because you do not have to affect the whole track like track motion does. What you need to do is rightclick in the PAN CROP window and select MATCH OUTPUT ASPECT. Then you can move it over the whole screen without cropping. Using the pan/crop tool to move things when starting out creates a bad habit for future use. Similar to using a screwdriver like a chisel or a file for a pry bar. Using "mask aspect output" doesn't change the functionality either, it automatically crops the event to the project ratio, in effect cutting out part of the event. All you did was crop down the event.

The pan/crop tool is for panning inside events & cropping them. If you want to move it around the project use the track motion tool, that's for doing motion to tracks. Might be a good idea to put that event on it's own track if it's only being moved w/o anything else on the track. The reason it disappears is because with the pan/crop tool, whatever is outside the dashed lines = not visible. Here's what I'd suggest you do if you want to do this in photoshop: save a screenshot of your project (in the preview window it's the little disk icon, make sure you're on best/full for the preview settings). Open that screenshot in photoshop. Make a new layer and do what you want. Hide the imported background & save it as a png file, then import that in to Vegas. It will already be positioned for you.

What would a reasonable Validation System and Eula look like?
I buy software, never ask me to prove it again. I want to say I one read an article by Ken Williams (or an interview) where piracy was considered an accepted fact and was part of the cost they'd factor in for their products. They did have anti-piracy stuff, but if you bought the game it was yours & you wearn't dependent on them. In the world where a Google/Youtube or Facebook can remove your "rights" w/o warning for any reason they feel reasonable, there's nothing stopping a company like Magix (or Apple or MS) from saying "Nah, you're not allowed to use our stuff any more" and taking away your rights to use the software.

Is there any solution to processing multipule Vegas renders? not PA3
I would make a region in my project, save the project, load the project in another instance of Vegas & render that region out while continuing to edit other parts. Keep rendering parts as I go along. Vegas seems to share resources with itself very well.

Fed Up! VP15 works only as Logged in Administrator
Could be accessing memory differently. If it happened to everyone all the time (which running software in an account other then Admin on windows is very common) there's be more posts about it, there's something specific to his setup. Might as well rule out a simple RAM issue.

Have you run memtest to check your RAM? After years of wondering why some programs wouldn't run properly & I would get random windows crashes, turns out two slots (not RAM stick) on my motherboard were bad. Strange thing was, some programs could use all the RAM & would never have an issue, some programs would always have an issue. Taking RAM out of those two slots solved my problems.

audio fx multiplying and distorting / destroying waveform event clip
I checked and organfinale is one the caused the issue for me. Tried the same FX & preset and by the 3rd loop it started clipping the audio channel on the track & being really distorted. I don't even need to use Vegas to loop the event, if I start playing at a certain point & keep clicking back to that point while in playback it keeps adding the FX. Like if it's not reading the audio file but a new rendered file & applies the FX again. Every time I stop playback & take focus away from Vegas it eliminates the effect & starts over. Once I start playing again it begins again. Windows 10 (all updated), Vegas 10 (whatever the last one was), AMD 7850 w/17.9.1 drivers, I have speakers & Oculus Rift as my audio devices.

In Vegas 10 I get the same issue with a 32-bit WAV file: using event FX causes it to continuously add to the sound until distorted completely. I downloaded a 32-bit WAV from here: http://www.kozco.com/tech/soundtests.html I did some tests & if I render one of the imported 32-bit WAV's back to a new 32-bit WAV from Vegas & reimport, it does NOT have the same glitch. So it appears it only happens to WAV's that aren't rendered out from Vegas.

Never heard of that one, it's new! Are they straight events & not embedded projects? The audio FX are a DX plugin, so maybe check your audio settings to see if there's something in there that could be causing this. IE an FX on the driver size that got enabled somehow, etc.

Or you could literally copy and paste events from your subproject into your new project and then change the text only in that new project. You need 2 instances of Vegas open to do that. I know I'm being a "smarty pants" because that's how I do it on a regular basis.... but... Single event, drag/droppable from the presets window to the Vegas TL.

Which begs the question: why did you upgrade? The 30 day trial would have told you all that. People do that every year when there's never been an advantage to upgrading BEFORE release of the trial. That's the reason I wait for the trail, I want to make sure I like what I'm buying first. I upgraded from 14 and see no benefits whatsoever for what I am doing. Actually LOST utility of Mercalli, so overpaid for LESS features. "once bitten...." Mercalli still works in Vegas 14, right? Do your stabilization in 14 & render to a new file to use in 15 if you want.

Copy image seq. between projects
I tried it in Vegas 10 to see if it was always like you described and in Vegas 10 I can copy/paste between projects w/o issue. However, the new project had different properties & my preview stuttered pretty bad. Try right clicking on the event in each project & compare properties, make sure it's only transferring 1 frame or if it says it has all but won't display. Make sure Vegas doesn't keep files locked when it looses focus, then maybe it can't read in the other instance. Worst case is just re-import the imported image sequence, no need to use a nested project (or render out a video).

Is MAGIX going to release a development kit for Vegas effects?
DX (or OGL) plugins have limits just like OFX does, just different ones. There's lots of FX out there but for dedicated FX packages like Boris, After Effects, etc. To me, Vegas letting me do that stuff is a huge bonus. BTW, I normally use Blender for my FX program. Still on 2.49b because that's the one I know.

I have V10 installed on 2 Win 10 machines w/o issue. Vegas 10 autodownloads & installs the correct version of .net I thought.

Can't find "My Products" serial numbers
Actually HF, the SCS link your posted gave a "We're sorry, the page you're looking for can't be found, so I assumed it was gone for good... but logging in to SCS 'My Account' gave access to the old SCS 'My Products'. Sorry for any confusion. I put the link in quotes and the auto-link generator on the forums put the last " as part of the link. I've fixed that.

If I go to "https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/myaccount/mysoftware I see all the SN's for the products I got from Sony/SF. I never got the more expensive version of Vegas with all the extras years ago so I'm not sure Hit Film would be on there or not.

It does. At least the OFXs I wrote using the old SDK are running in Vp14/15 without any change. SF/SCS released a SDK for writing non-OFX, DirectX, plugins. I always think it's a good idea to tweak the source to make it more optimized for the program you're using. It just makes sense OFX is source based. I have the C++ code on my computer. Searching online about the SDK (Magix doesn't have it any more from the looks of it) it was DX based, could only work on video events frame by frame, where as the OFX plugins can't manipulate the image specifically but can do manipulations across time. The OFX plugins reminds me of the limits of GPU shaders. I should have the old SDK on DVD somewhere.

Blender is free, so no $$ there. Looking through some free OFX pluigns I found on the OFX wikipedia page, there might be corner pinning OFX plugins that would work on the event level of Vegas. That would cut down to just motion tracking.

Adobe sets standards & is big enough to say how you play ball with them. I understand standards formats can not always be the best (DirectX is Windows only, Quicktime doesn't play well with non-apple products, etc) but I still want to know why he would rather have another SDK for Vegas. Could very well be the old SDK will run just fine in Vegas 14/15, maybe with a little tweaking.
