MPEG input files crashing V10
I think I found my problem. In the past I have never used .mpg files as input, only .avi & & .M2TS files. Once I went back to using the .M2TS files as input in my current project, all the problems vanished. I don't know what it is about .MPG files, but I sure won't try that again. FWIW, TomG

MPEG input files crashing V10
I'm still stuck on the V10 hang up. I have been monitoring the problem with the resource meter and when I get the message that V10 is not responding, I analyze the wait chain and get the message "vegas 100.exe (PID: 4212) Thread:6528" and when I end the thread the program terminates. Just don't know what this all means. TomG

MPEG input files crashing V10
Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't aware of the resource monitor and will try it out. I did clean my computer with Glary utilities and that seemed to help with the crashing but it is still getting stuck on something with this series of MPEG files. I've tried loading them one at a time and they work sometimes but then when I restart V10, the file won't "load". I thought it might be my HD but and moved the files but no luck. I am working under Windows 7 Ultimate. I got these files from a Panasonic consumer HD camera (about 4 years old). What exactly is the media info you want on the MPEG files? I'll keep working on this and if anyone else has a suggestion, I would appreciate it. TomG

Soniclight, I couldn't agree with you more. The "cloud" is aptly labeled. Once you putting anything up there, you have no idea who is looking at it, copying it, and if the cloud "crashes" due to a lighting strike, well...... My 2cents worth TomG

Thanks, Grazie I too installed this thinking it was an enhancement or improvement to my current video card. After I read your message I found it in startup and quickly turned it off. I will probably uninstall it later. I'm just surprised that it was in a normal update (but why am I surprised since Google is in there too with Bing?). I should have known better because it was NOT a recommended update. TomG

Motion waviness on sunlit objects
Thanks, everyone And especially to Johnmeyer who took the time to summarize all the advice that was given. I'll work on this over the weekend. For some reason I did overlook the "DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen video stream" setting. In the past I never used this setting but I will certainly check off to make sure I hit all the knowledgeable suggestions. At this point my veg file only contains one scene with the settings. If all the settings suggested still do not work, I'll post the veg file and original clip next week. I appreciate all the great advice. TomG

Motion waviness on sunlit objects
It's been a while and I can't remember how to create a link or upload a file to the forum (even though I searched using keywords "upload forum"). I know this has been documented somewhere so if anyone remembers where and points me in that direction, I would be glad to upload it. The input clip is in .m2ts (or mpg-2) and looks fine via media player. That file is put into VPROv10. I render it via NTSC. When I view this on the media player, that's when I see the very distinct waviness in the shiny objects such as sunlit buildings against the blue sky while panning. TomG

I just passed my 9 year date. John, the only threads I regularly read are the ones which include a post from you. You always include words of wisdom (and a lot of experience). OBTW... BillyBoy's website is still running although I'm sure the picture of him by now is probably out-of-date. TomG

I agree with Rob. If others can see the caliber of people who use Vegas and who are able to discuss Vegas very intelligently, this is about as good of a promition that Vegas can ever expect to get!!! I'm just a retired hobbieist now, but I've been with this forum for 10 years and it is the best forum I have ever participated in. I don't know much about Philip Bloom, but if other pros from around the world are gathering there, it would be a good place to at least get some mention. TomG
