Bought MS18 since it said it was an upgrade to VEGAS MS 17 - refund?
@True-H if you're denied the refund, try and see if "a charge back through the credit card provider" (or PayPal) as Dexcon suggests in a comment above would work. Yes I will contact my credit card if they deny my request and I will not upgrade my VP18 to V19 and will not buy any Magix products any more. Maybe better start looking for alternatives from now.

Today I became a victim of Magix misleading marketing team about this fake upgrade 😡 I tried this so called V18 upgrade for few minutes then uninstalled it. I just sent Magix email requesting refund. If for any stupid reason they refuse to refund me, then this proves that Magix become evil and greedy and they intended to mislead people in that upgrade scam. If that happens I will not trust this unethical company anymore.

How To Export CC For You Tube
Thank you people for trying to help. I found much better and much faster way to create CC than using Vegas built in feature which is lacking to say the least. I installed the free DivXLand Media Subtitler and it is amazing with its Press And Hold feature. Only problem with it is that it is not smart enough to recognize non-latin characters and languages such as Chinese and Arabic. The program requires to make some changes to Windows settings to make it display such languages correctly and that is not convenient. For this problem, I also installed the free amazing Nikse.dk Subtitle Edit which which have no problem displaying any language. It's much more advanced than DivXLand Media Subtitler but it lacks the Press And Hold feature. I will never do CCs and subtitles in Vegas again.

Vegas Pro 17 crashes when I press Ctrl-Z to undo edits
I'd go with Resolve over Premiere, fewer bugs.on the color side of things. I am not considering Adobe because it is a subscription model and when subscription ends you can not use the software anymore which is a rip off in my opinion. I heard many people talks positively about Resolve but is it as powerful as Vegas Pro?

Vegas Pro 17 crashes when I press Ctrl-Z to undo edits
I am not calling this Vegas Pro 18 I am calling it VeCrash Pro 18 because I am also having too many crashing problems in my new $10,000 MainGear Rush computer. Crashes almost every 2 minute to the point that makes it unusable for basic editing which keeps me wondering why Magix charges premium price for very buggy version. This VeCrash version should not be released because it is a beta version to say the least. Thanks god I still have my old Sony Vegas Pro 9 which still works great in my new powerful computer. Sony Vegas Pro 9 is very stable and almost never crash but I am not happy with its old style interface. All my softwares utilizes dark and modern interface and this was one of the biggest reason I wanted to upgrade to V18. Anyway I am asking for refund and until now I did not get reply from Magix. I will give them one more week to respond.

@True-H Seriously? Obviously you didn't read what it says in the link that I gave you. Here it is, "please send your cancellation as a response email to your order confirmation." You received an order confirmation from Magix - it comes with an email address. Simply reply to that email saying that you want a refund. Do you know how to reply to an email? Oops I did not read that because my eyes was searching for an email address. Anyway I already replied to that email 3 days ago and I did not get a reply. I was hoping for another email address. PS. Yes I am not technical person but I know how to move the mouse and click on the reply button.

Hi walter-i If the video file works fine with older version of Vegas then this by default means that it will work with newer version of Vegas. This is the case with any software.

Continuously crashing
Hi adis-a3097 Hi j-v Yes I posted my computer details in my older post. It is a brand new and powerful computer from MainGear and V9 works great in it so I did not expect less when I upgraded to V18. But at this stage I frankly want a refund because I do not have time for troubleshooting. I am already wasted enough time looking for email to contact Magix. I am very disappointed they released beta version.

I was using standard MP4 video files that run fine in V9. Thank you for your time but I don't have time for troubleshooting and I went back to Sony Vegas 9.

Continuously crashing
Hi Robert-Fredericks I have similar problem. I searched crash in the forum and many people having similar problems but some managed to troubleshoot it and fixed it. I don't have time to troubleshoot and any software supposed to work out of the box especially expensive one. I am wasting my time now to find out how to contact sales for refund and back working on Sony Vegas Pro 9.

I have the same experience. I have been using Vegas since the year 2000. I have many films built on Vegas. Now Magix has loaded a lot of half developed plugins to try and get market-share, but it has abandoned the professional user. I expected this, since their other software is for the amateur user. Vegas 16 was ok, 17 started to crash a lot. 18 crashes ALL THE TIME. And for you other users who say, "you will not get your money back" only reaffirms the character of this company. Magix. Tragic. Hi Robert-Fredericks I am using Vegas since version 6 and do not remember it crashed once. It is shame Magix released V18 in this Beta situation. I have no experience with V16 from where I can download trial? As for refund, I learned that I have 30 days but too bad Magix make it very hard to contact them. I searched and did not find their email address.

I see. I don't see real benefits in VEGAS Pro 365. In fact VEGAS Pro 18 Suite offers much better value than VEGAS Pro 365. I will upgrade to VEGAS Pro 18 Suite.
