Upgrading to i7-3930K
I am testing a GTX 680 atm, instead of my ATI V4900 firepro that i bought due to ATI's reccomendation (totally useless for rendering, but great for the editing job) The tests shows a 3-4 times renderspeed improvement, so im happy atm.

Take care: Windows backup fries your SSD
.... sidenote you can read a (almost) infinite amount of times from your SSD, as long as it dont change any data. If it was reading your disk, and writing data to the NAS's, it would not have any effect on the SSD lifecycle. What kills the disk is writing data - when the data changes from "0" to "1" or there other way. it have a liminited amount of times that can be done. But reading dont harm it. .. our SQL server farm would be long gone in a matter of days, if that was trye :)

How fast are your renders? GPU and no GPU

This has been shown to cut render times to these formats quite significantly..." "...you'll have to first set your computer up with a graphics card that supports the OpenCL standard for GPU and provides at least 512 MB of GPU memory..." "...While we've worked closely with industry leaders NVIDIA and AMD during our developmental process, Vegas Pro 11 is not limited to working with cards from only these manufacturers..." since it dont work with ATI V4900, wonder if I can get my money back?

I dont see the problem. If they wan tto run a forum with their topics, then let them. I have many other websites rip my forum and blog RSS feeds and thereby help spreading the knowledge from my sites, to corners of the web I cant cover.

Recommendation: HD portable camera
I'm using Panasonic TM900, and am very pleased with the sound and stability. I use the cam when I am at shows (horse), and it lets me record top quality video, and great 5.1 sound. Add a monopod and you are good to go on crownded places as well

Vegas 11 can't render to Mainconcept AVC MP4
Got the same problem, using AMD FirePro v4900 It's the first problem I have had so far wíth the AMD/ATI card. But it works if i render using CPU only. Just a shame when the GPU is build for it
