Vegas Pro 19 crashing since upgrading to build 643
And this is fixed with latest update to V20 and V19! I successfully edited two projects now without a single crash with mix of footage from GoPro Hero 10,11, ProRes 422, DJI Mavic Mini Pro 3, and Skydio 2. I've tried both V19 (648) and V20 (326). I actually made it straight through 3 hours of editing without a single hang to. I'm blown away right now. I don't want to jinx it, but this is the most stable Vegas has been for me in a long time.

If you want to contact Vegas developers directly, you need to open a support ticket.You will get profound help from experienced users here, and the developers do look in here and check in from time to time, but a lot also depends on how good the information you provide is, and how willing you are to test the suggested solutions.That's why I would like to remind you again of frOsty's suggestion to open a separate thread for concrete problems, so as not to mix things up. Oh I know. I've sent them support requests and the experience is lousy. Sent them a support request 48 hours ago, no response. When they do, lots of canned responses that go nowhere. When I send bugs with callstacks it never seems to make it to the developers. I'm packaging bugs up with dump files even. I've cracked the dump files, walked the callstack put that info in, support doesn't seem to know what to do with it.

Titler Pro 7 freezing up Vegas 20
I use Titler 7, latest version Vegas 20 214. If I have a pretty big title with lots of layers and lot of animations it takes a long time from the time I click the green check until control returns to Vegas. It'll grey out sometimes for five or so minutes. I just go grab a coffee and come back. Performance is definitely poor. Not sure how long you are waiting but might try waiting it out some. Once I've done it once, successive edits seem to return control much quicker. It's interesting to know others are having the same problems. I have tried waiting it out many times and sometimes it comes around and other times it doesn't no matter how long I might wait. It really isn't a feasible program if you have to wait 5 minutes to get a title which when it works is sometimes the case with me as well. Oh I'm with you but welcome to modern Vegas where you have to continually find workarounds for all the issues. Post up if you get response from NewBlue. If you go into Task manger while it's hanging, right click the Title process and select > Create dump file. Now send that to the New Blue folks and maybe they can help.

Vegas pro 20 BUG windows 11 Pro
Seems like Vegas problem to me since no other applications on my system do this. To workaround it go into your task manager, find the stuck Vegas background process and end task. On the next launch you should see Vegas20..exe flash for second in the background processes and then it will launch and show up under your running apps in Vegas. Just for giggles I'll report it to Microsoft with Feedback Hub next time it reproduces and see what response I get.

20 crashing all the time for anyone else?
Well, with Vegas, one has to spend lot of our time doing research on how to prevent crashes. It is everybody's fault but Magix's. Your hard disk driver, your graphics card driver, your usb driver, memory settings... their support will simpky blame all on your PCs driver. i m using vegas since sony days, version 11 and crashes have been part of all my projects. Vegas is not a good software in my opinion. Vegas was good software. I just wish I didn't spend my whole life editing in it cause now they got me by the balls. They introduced a serious regression in post V19 550 build. It's not my system, it's Vegas. I'm a software developer, I've gone in and looked at the callstack and given Magix plenty of dump files. Why they can't resolve it is beyond me, looks like null reference but without symbols I can't tell much more.. For now V20 is pointless to me unfortunately I bought a full license thinking my issues were resolved in 214 build until I started building a new project with multiple formats. I'm sticking to V19 550 for now, been editing a 20-minute project for last week without an issue (well occasional hang but I've learned to live with that). I've jumped through all their video driver hoops. I built a $3600 system just to run Vegas and it was flawless until they introduced the crash regression in V19 643.

If you can upload one of the prores and one gopro clip to google drive, and share the link here so we can try to repro and identify which hardware configs are experiencing the issue? Make a new thread when/if you do, please. Thanks, let me see if I can setup a simple repro project. I abandoned 20 241 and went back to V19 550 since it doesn't repro the issue. I sent at least 4 crash reports yesterday before I scrapped my project. Anyone ever look at those? Seems to go into the ether. Magix could really use a user feedback system so we know issues are getting looked at/fixed. As a user I spend a lot of time reporting issues and it's exhausting when there's no feedback to know your issues are addressed or being considered for a fix.

I can repro pretty easy by playing ProRes in timeline, going to media and scrubbing a GoPro thumbnail. Boom!

Vegas 365 subscription/ installed Veg. 20. now neither it nor 19 work.
If you aren't getting splash screen go into task manager and see if you have a Vegas app running as background process. I noticed same with 20/19 installed that it sometimes gets stuck. If I kill the background task version then try again it usually starts. Annoying but well, welcome to Vegas.

Latest Vegas 20 214 version is still crashing for me. Doesn't seem as bad but still poor enough experience I'm still on Vegas 19 550. Now I hit it mostly when I'm switching between ProRes 422 footage and GoPro footage in the trimmer or scrubbing thumbnails.

VEGAS Pro 20 feedback
Many people are going to be really happy with this next update. It's likely coming very soon. I love your optimism, but I have serious doubts considering I see massive regressions in quality on updates routinely. @baksideDisaster_Flicks Latest driver is 516.94 I use Geforce Experience to keep them up to date https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/geforce-experience/ PS I'm still on VP19 Yep that's the version I'm running. I pretty much keep them up to date unless I'm in the middle of a project.

Yes, Vegas 20 build 136 crashes all the time for me. I've filed support and posted thread on this. I've opened the dump file for the crash in the debugger and it's a problem with MXVideoAllocator. Vegas 19 build 550 doesn't have this problem. Sucks I pretty much can't use 20 at all to edit H265 video.

VEGAS Pro 20 feedback
With Vegas 20 Build 136 I'm still experiencing same MXVideoAllocator crash since Vegas 19 Build 643, doesn't repro Vegas 19 Build 550. Happens while importing GoPro Hero 10 5.3k 60FPS H265 footage. My other thread here went dead and my support request got closed while I was gone on vacation. Just filed a new support request with latest details and new crash dump file. Fingers crossed someone is listening and this crash gets fixed in next update .

severe PC crashes after build 643 (or driver update?)
Very similar to what was happening to me. Seemed like Vegas was crashing the video driver, monitor would black out, sometimes flash white, secondary monitor would go out and I'd have to reboot. I'm using same version of the Nvidia studio graphics driver but I don't think it's the driver as all was fine in 550. In fact, I've rolled back to 550 and haven't had issue since. If you share an error.zip file I'll crack it open and get callstack see if it's the same issue, you'll see problem with MXVideoAllocator.dll. I did notice that Vegas was consuming massive amounts of memory for the project I was working it before it would crash. To the order of 28GB and not releasing the memory. This version has a serious bug and nobody from Vegas is talking about it. One thing could be to try to re-encode the drone and GoPro files in case that's the cause of the issues in Vegas. I'm guessing MXVideoAllocator means you are working with HEVC files? You don't say what the CPU is but if you have the NVIDIA card doing decoding of HEVC (see preferences file i/o) that could be related to the crashes (I find my Intel QSV decoder the more stable of the two in Vegas).These days I re-encode all zoom and phone footage and it helps. Shutter Encoder or Handbrake can handle the task and are both free! One thing could be to try to re-encode the drone and GoPro files in case that's the cause of the issues in Vegas. "I'm using the latest graphics driver" doesn't mean what it used to... there are multiple types of graphics drivers now, some are for gaming use, others for studio use. Use the driver update utility in the VEGAS help menu to ensure you have the ones installed that it wants you to. Like I said in my original post I'm using the studio driver "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 - Studio driver 516.59 (latest version 06/29/2022)". That is the version that Vegas utility recommends.
