From Vegas to HandBrake
I found that if you do not click on File/Exit on Handbrake when render is finished the unmount part will not process.. After clicking on FILE/EXIT wait for process to finish. All will be fine.

need more space for BD
It seems you are very close.... In a 2hr video there is probably a significant amount of "dead space" that can you edit out in a way that it is unnoticed... that way you maintain the best quality.

Locked Bundled FX
+1 NewBlue has some potentially good software but its lack of management expertise and common sense leaves a lot to be desired. For instance, the version debacle where NB fought back on this forum over putting version numbers on its software because we, the customer, didn't understand how difficult that was. Or, the infamous instability of the titler software in which NB tried to blame Vegas rather than accept and fix their own problems. I bought version 2 of the titler and when I loaded a previous project in Vegas 13 the titles had NB watermarking. I will not purchase any more NB software since I cannot be assured that it will work in future versions of Vegas. Its just not worth the effort... plenty of other good software out there. Adios NB!

Just wonder if overclockers drive their vehicles with the tachometer pinned in the red as well?... Probably not! Manufacturer's have a reason for setting recommended speeds as they do. Serious business users can't afford the inevitable lost time (money) that overclocking usually leads to.

Workflow help: Vegas --> frameserve --> VirtualDub
I Frameserve from Vegas 12/Win 7/64 without problem... however I use the 32 bit VirtualDub as most of the filters I use are not yet 64bit. .

Whereas quality used to be the goal for broadcasters and the consuming public, nowadays convenience trumps all... Look at what has happened in the music industry with mp3 and ipods becoming acceptable fidelity to the masses... look at broadcast TV now using streaming cell phone video for reporting. 3D? 4K? Who needs it! Sad commentary indeed.

OT: PC sales plunge as Windows 8 flops
Even on the fastest connections available today upload of video for a typical project is still way too slow. Until the internet becomes as reliable and secure as my desktop I won't be using Cloud services... notwithstanding the already exorbitant cost of such!. Tablets are neat... until someone steals yours and all your work!

SOT: Blackmagic Intensity
I have not had any problems with SSD drives in my Hyperdeck. BlackMagic is very specific about which SSD drives are compatible (ie fast enough for uncompressed). I suspect some are trying drives which are not on approved list and are having problems. My only concern is the internal battery life is just under one hour. Need to carry plug-in 12v external battery if more time needed. Otherwise a lot of bang for the buck!

SOT: Blackmagic Intensity
Take a look at the Black Magic Intensity Shuttle for field work. This battery operated recorder uses HDMI from camera and records to SSD. I bought one when my tape mechanism went bad on my Sony HDV camera. Can record uncompressed to Apple Pro Res (or compressed to Avid DNX.. Codec). Video looks really good. Pretty economical too!

Sony Camera Repair - Reputable/Reasonable Place?
Check on EBAy for the mechanism. I bought an entire tape mechanism from (I believe it was the people listed above) for about $100. That is without the head which just is attached to it with screws. A new head from them was also about $125. (This was for a FX-7) If you are very careful about the flat cable attachments you can successfully replace the mechanism.

multicam question
I regularly use Pluraleyes to sync 3 cameras plus external audio file on the timeline... very precise! Sync everything on timeline first and save copy of veg before going into multicam edit.

Blackmagic HyperDeck Shuttle 2
With the Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 you record to the SSD in the unit then take the SSD out and plug into an external drive dock connected to your PC and simply copy the files over. You have several choices of uncompressed or compressed formats. Works fine with Vegas Pro 11.

OT: Anyone with an ATMOS Samurai?
@jabloom Are you are saying the Avid DNxHD MOV files work OK in Vegas Pro 11 without conversion? How much record time on a 128G SSD? I'm looking at getting one to use with a HDV camcorder with drive problems.
