VEGAS Pro 19 Update 1 - General Discussion
Thanks for the update. I noticed audio stutter when enabling/bypassing audio plugins as the video plays.No matter what audio device is used. But...this is not new. It's been like this before. V18 is the same. Interestingly it wasn’t too bad in the previous version. Seeing Vegas started as an audio editor then you’d think that would be a priority to fix. Similar audio glitches happen in 5.1 mixing using ASIO and oh ya…we need VST3 support too.

Sure, but with limited resources, you cannot do everything, so you have to prioritize. Vegas' dev team have had a tough job to catch up with the NLE competition, but they are doing a great job, so that bodes well for future improvements of all kinds - including audio. Best thing is to make sure your concerns / feature requests are accurately documented here in detail so the devs know what is wanted. They DO watch these forums! Understood but those audio features mentioned have been requested for several years now, nothing new.

Vegas is a non-linear video editor, it would only make sense for audio to take a back seat, though I agree that many of those bugs and features need long overdue attention... However, up until now, there have been more important video features that needed even more attention. what? Both audio and video features are important. Vegas did start as an audio editor before video features were added. Users wouldn't have to export anything to mix elsewhere if those features were finally implemented.

It seems that audio takes a back seat. What about the crackling problems in surround mixing? If that’s not fixed (after many years) can we at least get proper export support to protools with envelopes? What about waves plugin support? Is Vegas still programmed in the old school 32bit fashion? I’m not considering upgrading until that happens. It’s sad that Vegas can be so much more but I won’t jump to conclusions (yet)

I can't even give the trial a whirl. Re-installed the latest framework/Vegas 16 several times yet Vegas still gives an error that framework is required.

Suggestions for 16
-Fix existing problems users are requesting -Hover scrub on video thumbnails, mark in and outs without trimmer -Better project management like premiere (better bins, labels etc.) -Surround audio, many users including myself notice that no matter what system and what setup one has, stuttering, dropouts etc. are evident as the track count/plugins increase -Track freeze (or render), if that's gonna help get rid of the problems mentioned above -Surround plugins support on all Auxiliary buses, Master Bus. Assignable FX bus also stutters. -Export plugins are broken that includes AAF, Premiere etc. -Optimized handling of RAM during playback and not just rendering (more work needed on preview window are frames still drop even when going half or quarter rez) Thanks

Assignable FX Audio Glitches / Surround Plugin Support
Interesting points, I did notice the video improvements which are excellent. The audio tools in vegas pro vs other NLE's is amazing but time and time again I keep hearing about audio drop outs etc. in surround mixing from different users with different setups. I find temporary solutions that seem to work for a short while then the problems start again. I'm really wondering if it's hard to code such features or sony/magix sees vegas as a "prosumer" tool only. It's really sad because a few major but important features would make it a fully professional solution. What's holding them back I'm not sure. Vegas can truly be the do it all in one solution.

[Release] VEGAS Pro 15 – Inspiration Meets Productivity
Despite any negative feedback, there's always room for improvement but... I just tested Vegas Pro 15 and I'd like to say I LOVE IT. Props to the Magix team, Amazing work. Protools has just been eliminated in the workflow, so has premiere and audition. Sound: I setup a surround mix with a full HD video track, Ambience, SFX, Music, Dialog. I applied multiple effects and automation. Amazing performance! No dropouts, stutters, glitches, all gone. Video: I'm running a Quadro K5200 and I always protested for GPU support, the playback is amazingly smooth For me, just those two features are worth upgrading for! All the new UI improvements, freeze frames, paste attributes, crop and countless others are just an icing on the cake. Thanks very much to the Magix team for reviving and improving Vegas Pro, you made my work faster and my day better. No drama intended I'm honestly super happy. Heading over to purchase now!

VEGAS Pro 15 release date
Taking full advantage of GPU's including CUDA would be appreciated, the preview windows has gotten way better but I'm sure once GPU support is optimized there would be less dropped frames in preview to keep up with playback. Premiere actually takes full advantage of all GPU's.

Awesome news, props to the magix team. Can we optimize the audio engine when multi tracking with many tracks and effects applied without audio droputs, glitches, stutters, buffering problems etc. That would kill the need to export to another DAW for mixing.

Do you use the audio features in Vegas or do you use a DAW?
Although I was successful at mixing two feature films in Vegas, I do wish Magix would optimize the audio engine. There are many challenges to overcome especially when mixing in surround with a bunch of plugins and automation. Those include audio dropouts, stutters and buffering problems. If Magix fixes those Issues, it will leave many NLE's in the dust concerning surround mixing.

VEGAS Pro 14 Update 5 (build 244)
Rendering a file in version 211 works fine, in build 244 it states "invalid argument" and crashes. I just updated and I am having the exact same problem. Now I can't render anything. I am going to roll back to 211 and hopefully it works again. What render settings? No problem here with Sony AVC/MVC, MainConcept AVC/AAC, ProRes, HEVC. MainConcept AVC/AAC (*mp4,*avc) - Internet HD customized to output constant 20,000,000 (bps) As mentioned it works fine in 211, I went back to that version for now.

RAW Work Flow VEGAS PRO 14
Honestly, just save yourself the hassle. I stopped "fighting" with vegas to do RAW a while back. You might get it going by converting to an intermediate format first before editing in Vegas, but if you want efficient RAW editing that maximizes the use of your GPU resources (I use the Quadro line), premiere does it better, unfortunately. Audio wise, vegas is better.

Magix Prores Real Prores?
Has anyone submitted a Prores file exported from vegas for broadcast or cross platform work? The only software I saw on that list that does certified prores on windows is Scratch

All the Vegas team's hard work is appreciated. I think fixing the preview window dropped frames issue that we had for years and maximizing performance for all GPU's should be a priority. Not taking advantage of the full processing power of GPU's such as the Quadro line of products is a downer.

Is there a quick way to blur an area with Vegas 14 pro suite?
Apply a blur plugin to the video, the whole video will be blurred. Go under the mask tool and mask the area you want to blur, select FX masking in the drop down. You can also invert the area you want mask (positive or negative)

Disappearing Explorer Window Build 201
@xberk, it's the explorer window. @kinvermark Using a Quadro K5200, as mentioned this problem didn't exist until now.
