Backup Software Recommendations
You could look at Macrium software, it seems to look similar to Acronis True image. they have a 30 day free trial so you could give it a test run before you buy. A couple of members on this forum seem to swear by it. Their site has lots of information and there are tutorials on YouTube demonstrating the use of their software. Support seems to be genuine & helpful for the product. http://www.macrium.com/

GH4 footage import problems
@MikeyDH Just copy the link I posted above into you browser and it will take you to the script in dropbox. When there click on the little arrow above the file name (the arrow doesn't show until you hoover your cursor above the file name) and the Zip file should start down loading. You shouldn't have to sign up for anything.

GH4 footage import problems
Here is a link for the script for anybody using a GH4 that places the 4K footage onto the Vegas timeline, which seems to extend the video past the audio when it is imported: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6uTBvu2vGGXbVVhaVZXNkFtREE/edit?usp=sharing Just add this script to the tool bar and use it when you highlight the video track and BEFORE any editing or FX's are applied. It will sync up the audio video automatically, as it should have been in the first place.

OT - USEFUL: Hard Drive Visual Map Freeware
Here is another Hard Drive Visual Mapper that is freeware, and It is called SpaceSniffer. It digs down to every program, folder and file on the drive that you select, and shows a picture of various sized blocks (like a quilt) with a description of the name, size, and how much space everything is taking up, along with information of Creation, Modified & Access dates. Excalibur a tab in VP 13?
If you go into Options & scroll down to customize toolbar click on it, look for Excalibur in the Available toolbar buttons, highlight it then click Add and then it should show in your current toolbar buttons. Once you click on the Excalibur's toolbar button the program should open, then place it on the docking windows and this should create a tab. Also make sure you are using the latest version.

Best backup software?
I have been using Acronis True Image Home 12 Plus, to backup my SSD main drive and it has worked flawlessly for me. I do full image backups quite often, and when I do some tweeking to the system and things get out of sorts with programs I just reinstall the OS back to a previous time when everything was working right and things are back to normal other that adding a few updates. Further more I save all Media and Veg. files onto separate hard drives which are also backed up and you can access your work right where you left off. With Acronis you can do a full image backup to another hard drive before you finish for the night, program it to verify the data and then have it automatically shut down. You can do the same for a reinstall, the software has been bullet proof for me, from past to present, and couldn't live without it.

restore from ghosted copy
I'm not sure how you go about using a ghosted copy, and maybe somebody else might be able to help you here. I use, and recommend Acronis True Image Home 2012 and do a complete image back up of my SSD (C Drive) on to an external hard drive. Before I install any major program, I do a complete backup so I don't have to worry about having to do a complete install of all programs again. I just go to the last image backed up , install and everything is good. I can swear that it has saved me so many times when things have gone array. And even if things are running good I still do a complete image backup after a couple of weeks just to stay up to date with updated driver installs and Win7 updates. Even if your SSD fails, just install the backup onto a new SSD. It is well worth the investment as it takes between 30 to 45 min. to do a backup (pending on the size of your HD), and you can set it up to shut down your computer when it has finished. A reinstall of the image takes about the same time, and you don't have to enter your BIOS to run the install. I know other members use, and attest to it on this forum, and that is what put me onto it. After going through a few agonizing sessions of total OS installs, it was the best buck spent for any program. Definitely takes the stress and pain out screw ups. Didn't mean to go into a rant, but I feel your pain, hopefully you get things up and running... but check out the program for peace of mind. Good luck. (I have no affiliation with Acronis)

DVDA 6.0 - download n/a for legitimate user?
If you notice the header on the top it says "Free Updates",(such as 6a, 6b), and since this is DVDA 6.0 there isn't any updates as of yet, so that is why you cannot download it from My Software. However you should have a serial number in My Software if it has been installed previously, then download DVDA 6.0 from the software downloads page and use the serial number and everything should be good.

GPU acceleration no longer available
Uninstalled Vegas Pro 12, according to Forum Admin. and reinstalled VP 12 to the latest Update/build 394, using AMD Beta driver 12.11 and GPU is on by default in preferences and is working fine now and was before update. (by the way with the new AMD Beta driver I have knocked off 12 seconds on John Clines Rendertest 2010 by completeing the test in 20 seconds and remains stable for me)

How to un-split Trimmer window?
Try and hover your mouse over where the video meets the audio (should be 2 horizontal parallel lines and your cursor should change to 2 short horizontal lines with 2 arrows going in different directions, left click and hold and drag the lines up or down accordingly.

Canopus Codecs... for free?
@cybercom The Edius crossgrade that has the time limit and limited stock of version 6 is also through VideoGuys: If you purchase EDIUS 6 between March 2012 and July 2012 you are entitled to a free upgrade to EDIUS 6.5. And is $40 cheaper than the site you mentioned. Just in case anybody may be interested.

VASST Notepad
After downloading the updated Vasst Notepad (v1.2.0) it would not install, saying that a compatible Vegas Pro could not be found. I have Vegas Pro 10 & 11 64 bit installed, is it only compatible with Vegas Pro 9 or only 32 bit versions? If it is compatibale with the versions I have installed what is the procedure for installation of this new version of Notepad? Thanks inadvance.

Can I make an AMD card work well with Vegas
I have an AMD Diamond Radeon 6970, and it works great for rendering, it will blaze through Vegas Render Test in 34 seconds, if that is any indication for you. Mind you the components in my system are reasonably high end which also contributes to faster renders.
