Namespace change coming for VEGAS Pro 14
just knew there would be weirdness with the takeover. new owner needs to cater to the user. If you going to come up with some retched change release a script or program that will automatically convert all the old scripts to the new namespace.

no Vegas Pro 14 :(
Ok I downloaded the trial. yes you can edit... kind of like with movie maker but more tracks but without all the fancy stuff. the titler is really simple... but too simple... I am really confused.... the Sony movie studio kicks this thing over in features,., why would someone opt for this except it is good for just splicing shots together with a simple fade. Can some one explain please? WHAT AM I MISSING HERE? ED# WWW.SMECC.ORG

Re- the video....they all wear black shirts like the apartments.com guy <grin!>... OK OK Steve Jobs had the black shirt first.... Well 13 and the free platinum studio 13 I got with 4k Sony camera seem to edit 4k ok But.... canon just popped an 8K camera ( I think 4 k will do me fine for a while <grin!> Ed#

BAD BAD Save to tape... version vegas 9 and 10
when you print to tape.... it takes the eara you have selected and crunches and renders it to some temp file then when it is done writes the tape. now if you make a 2ed and thed tape those are quick a the temp file is already created.

okfolks gled you liked the site.... and yes I DO save stuff to disk bit sometimes film festivals want you to submit on tape ... also it is one more form of backuo! if you make a dvd it has less res. ed

nvida 6600 gforce 256 mb graphics card....
got it running by updating nvia driver.. but the transitions etc do not load blank folders yet when I go to the file manager in windows there is stuff there.. and the system runs horribly slow see the specs i quoted for the system and card.. it is soooo slooooww you want to kick it off the table.....heh! any ideas?

Suggestion for Wider Adoption of Vegas
Avid seems to be king the news stations too... I am trying to find uses in large news situations to use as a presentation to someone.... the one large one i ran into tended to fizzle and become a conflict of interest for some of the parties involved... can someone point me to a bulleted list of users I can present to these people? Ed Sharpe in reply to: AVID is still the only game in major studios, the only reason AVID needs to compete with FCP is small time market. Big studios already have all the AVIDS they need, and they won't be buying more every month.

It was desktop publishing for the PC at a time when the only real reason to own a Mac was desktop publishing. I got asked every single day when we would do a Mac version. Even then, from a business standpoint it was a no-brainer: we could get 30% of the PC market (which we easily had -- sometimes a lot more) or we could get 10% of the Mac market. Even though DTP was a small percentage of the PC market, by the time you go through all the math, the numbers are MUCH larger on the PC side, even though the Mac gets more attention simply becuase that is the Mac's raison d'être. Leaning toward HVR-Z7U instead of EX1
you say "you cannot trust tape. " well I can trust it beater than hard drive bearings that will not spin up after being on a shelf.... Also I have noticed I can drop tapes and they still work unlike some of the harddrives that hit the foor..... I think I would trust tape over blu-ray also.... someday a good spinning medium shall come along....
