Post your Vegas made music. I wanna hear.
One of the artists I'm working with is named "Samuell" we're using SONAR & Vegas for everything...and all the synths are software based: http://mp3.com/samuell (that's 2 L's) we're currently also working on a video using Vegas' Video facilities (so cool) -david abraham

VideoFactory 2 available- note from SonicEPM
very nice work...especially on the interface. one problem in the demo when you go to make movie (say Video CD) it gives you the warning about demo status but then there's no way to dismiss the dialog (cancel button doesn't do anything) I look forward to Vegas 3 -david abraham

UA DSp card is coming out soon! Time to reconsider VST?
My understanding is that there's an interface in DirectX8 that would make something like this possible, and potentially more efficient than a VST version because routing audio to a chain of effects on the card would be possible (instead of a round trip per instance) I got this information from Soundscape who are investigating DSP accelerated DirectX plugins. Another advantage of their system would be the fact that they already have a large number of plugin vendors (I.E. Sonic Timeworks) supporting their architecture. -david abraham

actually I don't see any energy around the Vegas Video platform at all. Only one 3rd party vendor (Pixelan) seems to know that VV even exists. None of the sites that covered NAB even made mention of VV..which in my opinion is the best editor out there. Where does Video fit into SF new strategy? -david abraham

what are the known issues? Stills export - why not possible from Vegas Video / Videofactory ?
There is a Copy Snaphot icon in the Video Preview window. High Quality rendering = no go
It is aboslutely possible to do good looking renders but it WILL take some tweaking to get the great stuff. Tech support is great
sigh...yet another bitter person on the NG. I didn't say SF phone tech support was the best. Simply it was outstanding. By far the best support I've gotten period is from compubank, but now I'm really OT. Ragarding 2.0b I did ask, I wasn't given a timeframe. I'd like it for the MPEG plug-in that hopefully will be included. It maybe difficult to maintain the profitability of a product like CD Architect if you have to hire resources to keep creating free updates for a product with declining revenue. It's very "un windows' to be supporting hardware directly. What's needed is some kind of abstracted api in Windows that CD burner apps can support, then as new hardware comes out they also support this api then everyone is happy. This may or may not be possible, but I did see the text for an adaptec cd burner plugin fly by when I installed Windows Media Player 7. So who knows. Vegas/Vegas Video are completely different. They will work forever as long as HW companies continue to provide MME/WDM drivers for their hardware.
