Thanks. When I do that I get thin black lines on each side. I set the project for 720x480. I can't see a way to get rid of the black lines.

VOB File Audio Editing
The audio in the file is mono so I need to edit it for stereo. The file will then be rendered to a mp4 file. I'm not making a DVD from this. Since I first posted, I found that if I asked to "Make a Copy" of the audio file, it does it, but refuses to open Sound Forge. I then shut down the Vegas file, open, edit and save the audio file in Sound Forge, reopen Vegas and then add the edited sound track and mute the original sound track. A lot of work for doing a simple thing. Also, how to you get Vegas to stop searching for the Closed Caption track when there isn't one?

Editing & Joining 2 GB AVCHD clips in Vegas Pro 13
I have a Panasonic camera (and Vegas 12) and tried the CTL+ALT+7 and it would only "see" the first file (there are 3). Any clues to get it to see all 3?

"That is weird" Hence the post on the forum. I've submitted a support ticket with Sony so I'll see what they recommend.

I guess a clone. I used the Samsung migrating software. As I stated, everything works. Everything...except Vegas 12 and DVD 6. But even after reinstall, it still does not work.

Thanks. I assume you mean the NTSC Widescreen template? I do not see where you choose the Dolby Pro encoder. Thanks for the direction.

Edit without rerendering?
Thanks for your help. I actually did something odd and read the instructions (gasp!) and played around with it. My "rerendered" clip used the same codec, but the only diiference is that my original AVI is 1280X720X24, while the rerendered is 1280X720X32. What is the difference in the "24" and the "32"?

Yes, "cuts-only" edits would be what I would do. So when I "render as", what do I choose as "save as type"? Also, what "template" do I use? Thanks.

New To HD stuff
Again, thanks for all the suggestions. I hope to shoot more clips this next week and will try some the settings suggested. I have been using a trial version of Moyea Flash Video MX to convert to flash formats and it works pretty good. I'll try some of the others that were also recommended. You guys certainly know what you are talking about and I appreciate the insight of your experience. Have a great New Year!

Thanks for the tips. I went into the "custom" menu and played around and was finally able to come up with settings that worked (sort of) but it will need some tinkering. The file size compared to the Window Media template is about 3 times the size and to be honest, didn't look as good. Thanks again for the advice.

I do not see a "AVCHD" 720p24 template. Is that only in Vegas 9?

Yes. As a follow-up to my own question, it appears the only setting I can use is Windows Media Video V9 using the 4.8mps HD 720-24p video setting. That keeps the correct aspect but it sure is slooow! Is there a better way? Thanks.
