Old WWII 78rpm cardboard records
I didn't have a 78 rpm needle just a 33/45 needle. The grooves were well worn in the one with most noise. I got them done though. The noisy one was still noisy though a little less so after messaging in Steinberg Wave Lab and then Izotop RX. The good recording was excellent not hardly any noise.

Doby digital pro render
OK, but in my previous versions of Vegas including this one on my old PC, I had access to to the Dolby Digital pro authoring without DVD Ark installed. (I don't use it) I assumed it was becaus the Sonic Foundry ac3 plug in was utilized. But now I can't seem get it installed so Vegas will use it. I guess I will install DVDA eventhough I did't have to in the past. Thanks

Plug-in error after 8c upgrade
Jay I installed 8c and rebooted immediately after install. I have not gotten any of the plugin problems that you have. Everything works just fine. I have Win XP Pro SP2.

My Epson R200 DVD Printer is Dying
I have the R800 and have been using it for over three years now with no issues. The print heads have held up well and all my DVD's still look good.

OT: Paramount to drop HD DVD
What about all my DVD's? Doesn't the HD-DVD palyer also play the regular DVD's? The Blue Ray players won't? To me that's the winning point for the HD-DVD. I'm not going to reinvest in buying all my DVD releases in another format.

PRO 8a CAPTURE PROBLEM
Opampman I just upgraded to 8a myself and Sceneaylser still works from the getgo for me. I am running on XP Pro and my Canopus 1394 card has the front panel option. Your operating system see's the camera but the Vegas capture etc software does not. HMMMM Sorry I'm lost on this one.

PRO 8a CAPTURE PROBLEM
Does Scenalyser see the "Microsoft DV Camera etc"? I have the Canopus (GrassValley) 1394 card too and have no problems capturing. Does the little camera icon appear in you tool bar when you plug in the fire wire cable to your camera?

Vegas 8 + Frameserver = No No ?
I only use the Frame Server too. That AVI is the only one Procoder can recognize.

Watch out if uninstalling old versions
When I got V6d I tried uninstalling V5 and when I did most of all the plugins etc I had dissappeared in V6d. I posted this before but didn't get much help on keeping plugins etc from dissappering when an older version of Vegas is removed. I have V8Pro but hav not installed it yet. I have V5 and V6, not V7 (Skipped that one). I would like to remove V5 and keep V6 with all the plugs and then install V8 and eventually remove V6. What are the tricks to keep the plugins, AC3 renderer etc from dissappearing in the new version when an older version is removed? I may hang loose on installing V8Pro for a while.

Skipping an upgrade: any penalties?
I skipped V7 totally. When I put my V6d serial nunber in the box for the $134 upgrade for V8 Pro, it went through with out any problems.

PAL formatted DVD-Convert to NTSC
The Oppo DVD players play PAL or NTSC and all regions if you tell it to do that.

Semi OT: Recording CDs from Vegas 6/7?
If you put the tracks on the Vegas time line just separate each track with a little space and then do the markers as is said above and when you burn the CD it will burn as separate tracks. I havn't done any vinal yet but I have used this process to break tracks from cassette tapes I have put on CD.

Intellectual Property
Thanks Tim and Spot, I didn't have a "Work for Hire agreement" when I did the DVD that was my own idea and I got the State Park to agree for me to shoot and sell the DVD of the 25th anniversary event. The band was one part of the three day event. Spot I think I'll take your suggestion on this. Unless he offers to me unsolisited I propably won't ask for anything above editing and reshooting if there is any.

OT: Advice on AV Receiver
The Panisonic XR-25 is what I have and it has worked great for the last 4 years and it has a fan for ventilation. I would get one now though that has HDMI through put. The old XR-25 has component as the highest through put.

OT: Atomic Bomb
epirb, I remember the winter of 1962-63 and there was a lot of snow where I grew up that year and my mother told me not to eat any of the snow as it was "radioactive" because of the airborne tests. She nor I really knew what that was at that time and I didn't eat any of the snow I don't think.

OT: Comercial TV providers
You can access the DBS Fourm via the AVS Forum. There is a recent thread on the DBS High Def section on the SF HD locals offered by Dish Network.. I have Dish (E* for Echostar) as my provider. I don't have any of the metal packs just the old HD pack without Voom. All my HD locals (Louisville Ky.) are OTA and they look as good and sometime better the the HD privided by E*. The audio on the OTA channels is mostly 5.1 ES except PBS. The PBS HD channel here has a lot of issues with it's audio feed. I got a tone last night instead of conversation.

Hello, I'm in Kentucky near Louisville. I would be happy to pitch in if needed. I will be in Muncie just 80 miles from there for a few days until the 4th of September but if you definately need me to help I could stay a few days longer and to help you out. OK Sorry Spot, I have had an issue come up and wont be able to over stay from the 4th to the 7th so I have to back out.

Almost deleted my audio Plugins in Vegas 6d
Thanks I had not uninstalled V6 but only V5. I think I will leave well enough alone. I'm leaving V5 on this machine until I can get a for sure answer on this issue.

dlt support
I can only suggest an answer on the DLT question. I use GEAR Pro Mastering 7 to writer to DLT when i need to and also to set the layer break. It will write a DDP images too. I don't think DVDA will write to a DLT drive or do DDP images.
