About me Forum Tutorials Comments Guestbook Video on 10/20/2022 VEGAS Pro 20 Build 214 General Thread I have to say I'm very disappointed in this new update, just went from Vegas 19 to 20 with today's update but the timeline is incredibly laggy in Vegas 20, to the point where I'm sitting banging my fist on my table in frustration. I can't figure out why this new version is so much worse and I tried copying over my preferences but that didn't help either. What is going on with this new update? The same happened to me until I realized that colour grading was activated above the preview window (not by me) removing this changed the rate on my project from 6-11 fps to the expected 25. Hmm what exact setting are you referring to? Can't seem to spot anything about color grading above the preview window. Do you mean that a Video Output FX has been added with color grading? Video on 3/27/2022 Poor quality of snapshots Just as I was going to post some examples I figured out what the problem was, for some reason my project pixel settings was set to Legacy 8 ?bit (video levels) Do you have an older version of Vegas (you didn't say)? I use Vegas Pro 19. However my project file is based of a template from Vegas Pro 17 I previously used so I'm wondering if that's a reason to why this happened. Now I'm worried there might be other legacy settings that could be messing with me causing some other issues I'm experiencing (such as the undo buffer constantly crashing/causing me to have to restart the software) Video on 3/26/2022 Poor quality of snapshots What version of Vegas Pro are you using, Elliot? Please post some examples. @elliot-f I'm not experiencing this. See below an original image beside a snapshot taken at Best/Full. Original image........................... Snapshot taken at Best/Full I'm not seeing this problem either. Use it a lot. Thank you all for the responses, I should have given you some examples. Just as I was going to post some examples I figured out what the problem was, for some reason my project pixel settings was set to Legacy 8 bit (video levels) and I tried changing it to 8 bit (full range) and it made a HUGE difference. I have no idea why that setting was used as I never touch my project settings but in case anyone runs into the same issue and sees this thread, try looking at that setting. In case you guys want an example just to see why it was bothering me here's a comparison, the left one is with legacy and right one with full range: Video on 12/11/2018 Match Output Aspect Automatically? This helps me a lot Thank you, that's exactly what I was looking for! 1
