Problems with iPhone Videos
I've had this problem too, though I'm on Vegas Pro v12. I think one solution is to convert the iPhone video clips to something like MP4 format using Handbrake - it solved the problem for me.

Mercalli SA 3.0 - Well: 9.3 outta 10!
I've had great results with SAL3 batch stabilization of .MOV files from my Nikon D600 DSLR. I then had to apply the Studio RGB to Computer RGB levels on the whole track to restore the correct colour, but after that everything looked fine - and very steady. It would be nice if ProDad could remove the need for this, but overall this program is a great time saver.

ProDad say that that version a new version was available from 23rd April, but I can't find the download link. Am I just getting senile? 23-Apr-2013 3.0.214 Compatibility to QuickTime improved. Export with broadcast bit rates.

Error when using Sound Forge as Vegas Audio editor
I too have now rolled back to b394 from b486 because of the Sound Forge problem. I' m not sure what, if any, benefits b486 brought me, but the SF problem was a stopper. Hope they get this sorted out in the next release

So Sick of Color Match Filter Bugs
Another +1 for Frederic's plugins. I have them all, just downloading the new Border one as I type this, and I have every confidence I'll buy it even before the trial period ends. Frederic is VERY helpful, and recently spent a whole day sorting out a problem I was having with the WB plugin. We are fortunate to have him in our little Vegas Community !

USB microphone
Don't forget that if you record with a mic connected to the PC it will pic up the PC noise, such as fans etc. Much better to record using a Zoom portable digital recorder, and then synch the soundtrack in Vegas.

Is SVP12 a buy and stabilisation question
Malcolm, Stabilization in Vegas 12 works very well (for me). In Vegas 11 it was a disaster. All in all, VP12 makes editing a joy again, and the new features are very nice. I've still had a few crashes/freezes but nothing like as frequently in VP11. So far I'm very pleased that I upgraded from VP11 to VP12, a view that seems to be shared by many other members of this forum.

Trying to troubleshoot Vegas Pro 12 crash w P2 MXF
I think Vegas just doesn't like .MOV files. I've had bad experiences with .MOV files from both Canon DSLRs and iPhones. The only way I can get round this is to use Handbrake to convert .MOV files to .MP4. Vegas then seems happy. People may tell you the problem is Quicktime, but I find neither the current of previous version of QT solves the problem.

Vegas Pro 12 and New Blue Titler Pro
I have been struggling to get NewBlue Titler1 to work since the first day that Vegas 11 was released last year. I've tried every NBT update, with GPU on and off. As soon as Vegas 12 was available last week I tried NB Titler1, but immediately got the same white/frozen screen in VP12 as I did in VP11 I have therefore completely given up on this pile of junk software, and have absolutely no faith in this company's products, and will certainly not be wasting good money on NB Titler 2. Moral = AVOID !!!

I find that Spectral Repair in iZoptope RX2 does a very good job at removing (or considerably reducing) wind noise (and lots of other noises too). Just been re-editing some of my "windy" clips using iZotope RX2 as plug-in in Vegas 12, and although the process is not very intuitive, the results are very good. Afraid that iZtope RX2 is not a cheap program, but it's brilliant at what it does.

The "solution" I've used in the past is to use Handbrake to convert the .MOV files to .MP4 files - which Vegas will happily accept.

Problems with V12
I too had a Blue Screen of Death in VP12 the other day whilst trying to render some progressive footage. Thought it might have been a PC/Win7 fault so ignored it and rebooted. Perhaps is was a Vegas problem after all!
