Please look at this error for an XML export from Vegas Pro 16 on PC
Hi. I just figured this out. If I removed ANY nested VEG files in the project, the XML export is successful. Glad to finally have this one solved.

Hi again Klt. You are waaaay too hard on yourself! No big deal. I'm the one who needs the lesson, not you. I am still having problems ultimately with successfully searching ANYTHING inside Total Commander. I realize this sounds impossible so I have recorded a down and dirty screen capture to show what is happening here in my world. Me Stupid...need help with font mystery
So a bit of an update. Maybe this is close to figuring out why I couldn't find the texts in the veg file myself. I have a problem when using Total Commander and following the video very carefully that klt kindly uploaded for me. Open Total Commander. Highlight the .veg file on the left column F3 But when I try to highlight "4" for Image/Multimedia, it doesn't really switch to 4. When I look to see what I am on, I am on "1" for text. I can't get Total Commander to allow me to select "4".

Chuckles. Oh yes, Haettenschweiler DOES SOUND FAMILIAR. That unpronounceable font that I chose during my project!! My project restores perfectly now. The help means so much to me. If you are ever in Israel, (send me an email) I would love to help you out with anything you need. My plan now is to follow the steps given and see if I can successfully find the fonts on my own. Maybe then I can post a simple guide summary in case it is helpful to someone else in the future.

For some reason my .png files won't upload. But my titles are specifically: Video Media Generators: Vegas Titles and Texts. If you right click on a timeline and choose "insert Text" you will get a media generator text.

Right Eagle Six! It works for Legacy Text. But all of my texts are what's called media generator texts! Very sadly, it doesn't look like it works in that situation. Huge problem for me.

So I did that. I created a new veg in 16 pro. Added 1 video track with one text media generator that said "Sample Text". Opened that in Total Commander and I searched and visually scanned but can't find the text. Can someone else recreate this? Can you see the text font in a simple one event veg file?

Great directions and I was able to put it into hex mode. That said I can't find any text. I will create a simple .veg with only one graphic and look at it and see what Total Commander says. Thanks.

Thanks. I installed it and I have my veg file highlighted in red on the left hand side of the screen but I have no idea how to do anything else in this program or really what it does do.

Word pad and note pad won't search the veg files for some reason. In the pic you can clearly see the word angle but the search says no matches. Bizarre.

Hi Kit. I thought for sure your post would fix my problem. However, a search of the text looking for anything close to "char" yields zero hits. Searched "fnil" too whatever that may be. The Word Pad veg file must be 50 pages long so it is quite a slog. Of course I searched font too.

Pro16 Storyboard/Subclips Workflow Fail For Me...
Update here. I may have found a solution for those who are interested. It appears if I add the subclips as a "take" onto the timeline for the exact same portion of the original clip that I can do both. I can toggle to the original clips when it is time for the uprez to 4k and I can work with the subclips in the storyboard for playing with the content.

Is it possible to enlarge "Project Media" thumbnails?
I have been using a joystick 3 button mouse for 20 years that I love but it doesn't have a scroll wheel. Is there anyway to enlarge the thumbnails without a scroll wheel??

Closed Captions CEA-608 to CEA-708
Yep, its a non working feature in Vegas. About the time we get 708 captions there might be a new standard.

Trim in VegasPro without loosing quality (if possible)

So the render format is identical the the source format both in file type, and in size. Are you also factoring in bit rate? Also, I think you are saying you used the identical codec as the original as well so if that is true AND you are maintaining at least the same bit rate as the original, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about IMO. On the other hand. Why remove the other content in the first place? Do you have hundreds of hours of this content that would possibly warrant deleting part of the original content?

Nick you are the dude. I disabled So4compound and poof the markers DO show up in Vegas Pro 16. That's great!! So, what if any do I lose by disabling this compound? Really nice to have an opportunity to stick my toe in the water now with Vegas Pro 16. Can't thank ALL who got involved to help!! Erik

Nick hi and thank you for your efforts. I can rule out that the embedded markers were created in a version prior to V15. 100% chance they were created in V15.
