Best soundtrack creating software

Where might we see and hear some samples?<< If you've watched any TV between the early-90's to today you may have already. Really, my intention is this - music/scoring/sound is as important as (and sometimes even moreso) the video content. I don't care what you think of me, but to forget that rule is to forever continue much of the trite crap we see daily and retread the route of the amatuer. There is talent out there you should be experiencing, collaborating with, and embracing. The elements are there...and most of the time it's not found in a software box.

Lol! Sure, I suppose I deserved that...but nobody is saying "pat sucks". We all have had to do this puff work. Whether it be these kids/teen music videos, infomercials, commercials, weddings, adult crapola, website advert/advert vids, lower 3rd washes, whatever, etc....etc. I'm just not sure it requires posting about here (mor ethan once at least) when it's simply more sh*t like the above, as if this stuff is really deep or meaningful. It's typical rap music video with amatuer flair. My reply is just post the vids that are special and have some meaning....which would first require working on stuff that has more meaning. It's also just another music video and more basic "rap" for that matter (sub-par rap to add - far from "memorable"). Something with some substance and meaning might be a better move from time to time (even if it didn't pay as well...if at all). It just makes it all real. This stuff? It's far from "real" these days (not to mention - it's rather dated material). You encourage Pat down this road, and I''d encourage him to hopefully aim to veer far from it one day. What's next....aother reality TV show?

Of course a "good job " to patrick for his work (and if not for just entertaining working on this stuff at all...but hey, we all work with crap for $). This group might hold a bit more "cred" (damn, did I just type that garbage?) than the hand gesturing females from 90210 video...but there is a constant theme to this persons video work that kinda rings 'low-budget/cheese" (probably hard for you to tell him that though). My thoughts: first, lose the cheap fogging (or create a better/more interesting blend). As is it's so overused, this guy must love the 80s (and even back then they used it more creatively). Work on the surroundings for the videos, that's the weakest point which plays in giving off that amatuer look. The topic of focus is shot well...but his surrounding design is nearly non-existent (there's more to the frame than the main subject). This also relates to the point below. Hey...did we forget about use of angle? Sometimes utilizing more than a tripod can bring life to music videos (I can't stand "common" music videos as you can see - it's up there with the adult video shit at this point, but hey...it's a job) . Plan for or double-up a shoot with some differing angles and perspectives...they can help egotisical music videos quite a bit (maybe hint this ever so carefully to egotistical directors?0 Whoever mentioned "slippy" editing (matching music) is quite right...although I'll go as far as horrid editing. Shore that shit up if he's going for beatmatching. "slippy" is a nice way of putting it...I'd use "shoddy" (and then the words "you're fired" would soon follow). After all this crap, go film a real classical or jazz performance and rewash/rinse your mind (let it soak in some real musicianship in reward for putting up with all this puff-work :) And dat's the str8 truth kickin' mad in your mind! ;)p

OT: music video i shot recently (CC'ed in Vegas)
I'm with Steve...rap has taken vain to new levels of BS (and I don't dislike all rap). But then again, barring most classical and jazz performance videos...all "music videos" are egotistical, rather easy, and usually brainless. This "band" is annoying at best though. Any level of "tough" is quickly tossed away from the get-go, it plays like an "after-school special" of rap videos. the definition is nice though! "drumming" hand gestures... AKA: the same 'ol, same 'ol. Mom's are still probably folding their clothes in suburbia.

Is it really confusing you? I think people overall aren't watching as much TV (sorry, but another good thing IMO. Could be a reflection of the times we live in, the reality is there just isn't as much time for it these days).

Designed for morons with way too much time on their hands. Everyone I know who has dipped into these new formats feels it's reached the peak of ridiculous. The exras offered on bd/hddvd are past mundane/useless and hilariouis (I agree). There's just no real need for any of it, DVD is and will the standard for quite some time. >>That's JUST as important in people's daily lives as video games!<< Alcohol is just as important to some people lives. Hey, I'm not against Video games (not at all) and the little tykes will always be into it... These days, there's more important sh*t to do...isn't there? To add: I think the diff beteen the old retro vid games like Intellivision or (fill in here) is it had games that didn't eat up a lot of time, still were fun, but more often involved having to play with 2 or more players which made it all the more fun and valid.

1 Cam Live Shoot... Ideas?
It's a reception (unsure what that really means but...uugh). The guy knows it's 1-cam and wanting you to make it look as if there were more. So what's the problem? Just do it, everything's gonna take place in post-work. I suggest you film a lot more than you're planning to to pull it off. Charge him a bit more for post. I've known many who can made a 1-cam shoot look as if it might be more. As for making it interesting...that's not all in your hands (it's a reception).

SF9 iZotope Plugs in Vegas?
I'm sorry but this lil update to sf9 isn't impressive, and I couldn't throw izotope far enough away from me. I'd love to hear though some of the reasons some of you feel this update is a must have. Anybody?

Finally got a proper tripod.
Shout from the bleachers, I've seen media shot on low-mid level TPs by experienced cameramen. They have the best gear available of course, but they don't NEED the fluid heads to get a great shot/pan. They know how to work with anything. 80-20 rule applies: It's the person...not the metal. addition: Ya know, over the years I've found 4 professional TPs just sitting there in many 2nd hand stores (value village/etc.) - fully functional with the exception of scuffs/etc. You might take a stroll through one near you for items such as this, you'll be surprised what turns up every now and then.

I just read it and it sounded like another we're #1 review...when I get the feeling most here do wish it were true. Ya know John, I read it and just became a little saddened of the "sluggish" pace that seems to always be inherent in SF/now Sony's products and fight to gain/regain a strong foothold. Here we have Vegas, which to me has a UI that screams get to work...but it's burden has always been it's sluggish pace of growth (if we compare to CS3 especially). SF9 is a great example. Now we're finally seeing an update (a minimal update at that)? It just doesn't HAVE to be like this.

Yeah, he should try out for am. idol next go round. Why not? I got a friend in this years am idol who's still up there in the runnin'. Anything can happen. I wonder when they'll expand to amer. instrumentalist next?
