Is Magix .mp4 render codec Main Concept .mp4?
This what I see. I'm using my GPU to render, not the QSV setting. Just didn't know if Magix was using an .mp4 version of the MC codec, as the other MC codecs listed are mpeg 1 &2; or if was missing an actual Magix render codec.

Thank you John! That was it. I generally re-check prefs if I change something...this one slipped by me. I made sure it was unchecked in V18 as well.

Frame rate change to digitized 8mm film
"The frame rate for Regular8 and Super8 film is 18 frames per second." @mark-y The frame rate for Regular 8 is 16fps. When Super 8 came out, the silent speed was changed to 18fps.

@VEGASDerek: It's in the right part of the Xansition (closer to the right edge) after the mid point. 3Point and John Dennis's examples show the artifacting/transparency issue clearly just as I have experienced. Other transitions I've used work as expected.

No, it doesn't. Examine the right half of the frame when the transition goes past the mid point. I can see the issue in your example, even though the bricks etc. tends to mask it somewhat. Easily visible in Vegas 13, 16,18 even with solid color media generated bits over a BG color. I think the issue began with 64 bit Vegas.

GPU option not showing up in VP18 (Win 7), works fine in VP16.
Thanks Howard, I re-installed that driver and it now shows up. Seems V18 does rely on features in Win 10 for optimum performance...many things appear to be "broken" running it in Win 7. I did notice that it plays back UHD 30p .MOV files a bit faster/smoother in a 1080p project than V16. Hopefully, I can transfer my saved FX settings, etc. over to V18 when I upgrade the OS.

Moving Markers With Timeline...
I've been waiting for a "move marker with event" implementation for years. The trimmer option isn't a very good workaround. I'm sure many others have asked for this as well. Here's hoping. Ken

My Magix AVC .mp4 render setting are missing in V16.
Thanks rraud, Yes, I did the shutdown, reboot, reload thing. The strange thing is, the issue was related to only a single project. I loaded another project from the list from the same concert and the Magix settings were again present. While that project was open, I selected the problem one and it opened with all settings now visible...saved it again, shut down, re-booted, started Vegas and all was well again. All project properties and media were the same between them, so I'm still wondering why the settings disappeared on one of them; but fortunately, it's working now and I was able to render to the Magix internet 1080p 59.94 .mp4 file format. Happy Otter Scripts for Vegas Pro
Installed the HO trial for Vegas Pro 16. All items on the installed list had green checkmark. I tried Kwik preview on a small (10sec) piece of timeline video with audio; selected the default size (480). The rendered file has audio but no video...black screen. Also tried Render + on same video. The frame server window (I think) opened and then Vegas crashed with a program kernel error. I'm running Windows 7 Pro on my i7 6700k w/16GB ram and an old Radeon RX460 GPU. Am I missing a component that should have been installed or?? Any help appreciated. Ken

Downloaded and installed the MSI pkg. Does this work with V16 on Windows 7? It doesn't show up in plug-ins folder or anywhere else in the list of V16 files. Looks like a useful tool. Ken

Is there a way to lock markers to a specific track?
If trimmer markers travel with events to the timeline, why has the long overdue "lock markers to events" on the timeline itself not been implemented? Many of us seldom use the trimmer at all and bring clips directly to the timeline for editing. Locking/unlocking markers to events would be a blessing when moving clips forward/backward on the timeline.

FX Frustration
Thanks to you both. I finally loaded up my ancient version of Boris Red, placed 2 seconds of the outgoing and incoming shots on the timeline and rendered it using the built in FX. Slight gamma shift but easily fixed in Vegas. The FX from Vegas are very old and many could benefit from the simple option to apply them in reverse. That said, I've created many comps in Vegas that editors thought were done in After Effects. :).

If you're using Vegas, try using the capture utility (Vidcap). Also make sure the camcorder output settings are correctly enabled. Hope this helps. Ken

Problem with AAV Color Lab Plugin in Vegas 13
Works with my V13 Win 7 Pro computer. Intel i7 6700k, 16GB Ram, Radeon RX460 w/only4GB. Perhaps it's not uninstalling completely? I check the registry to make sure program "leftovers" are gone, though many folks don't feel comfortable doing that. Ken

First: Thanks for the "Insert Freeze Frame" script...super helpful. Is there any way to launch this or even the Otter Bar with a keystroke combo (ctrl + something, etc.) instead of selecting from the script/extensions menu or docking?

@3point: What restrictions might those be? Scaling and repositioning without losing apparent resolution is of prime importance for me when utilizing Pan/Crop.

Any way to use 32 bit FX (DebugMode Wax) in 64 bit Vegas Pro?
Thanks Marco, for the track FX reminder. I've tried it in the past, but have had to dedicate a whole track to those FX because my old brain keeps forgetting to "zero out" the track markers between affected events and something down the line gets affected also. Still, it looks like the easiest way without jumping to another program.
